Bush Sr. brands Moore 'slimeball'

Post by dr. what »

Former US President George Bush, father of the current president, has attacked film-maker Michael Moore as a "slimeball" for Fahrenheit 9/11.
Moore's controversial documentary makes links between the Bush family and the Bin Laden and Saudi royal dynasties.

Speaking to WCSH-TV in Maine, US, the former president said Moore was a "total ass, slimeball". He added it was "outrageous, his lies about my family".

The film was a hit in the US, taking $119m (£66m) at box offices.

It alleges Saudis, including those with connections to the Bin Laden family, funded oil and arms companies run by the Bush family and their inner circle.

It claims those companies profited from the aftermath of 11 September.

University furore

Moore has made no secret of the fact he wants the current president removed from office, and timed the film's release to have the maximum impact on voters.

Meanwhile, the film-maker has promised to set up a scholarship at California State University, San Marcos, after the university cancelled his appearance because of his outspoken views. The university said he would be welcome back after next month's presidential election.

Moore addressed about 10,000 people on Tuesday outside the campus instead.

He said he would give $5,000 (£2,775) per year to the student who "stands up the most to the administration of Cal State San Marcos".

"I hope to encourage students in the future to do the true American thing and stand up for what they believe in," he said.

Well Moore is a disgusting fatass, so I suppose branding him is completely appropriate.
Devolution is quite as natural as evolution, and may be just as pleasing, or even a good deal more pleasing, to God. If the average man is made in God's image, then a man such as Beethoven or Aristotle is plainly superior to God, and so God may be jealous of him, and eager to see his superiority perish with his bodily frame.

hehehe.

I love it when people resort to this sort of attack. They rip his film but 90% of those ripping it, haven't seen it. They call him a slimeball, fat and so forth, but none of that says anything about his views.

The bottom line is that the Right cannot come up with much against this guy because HE HAS NO SINISTER MOTIVES. He's not doing all this to make money (that he is speaks volumes about how infuriated MANY of us are with today's issues) and is doing it for the purest of reasons. He has an opinion and is making his case in the best way he knows. No one forced anyone to buy a ticket to his movie. No one forced anyone to buy the DVD (now the #4 top-seller at Amazon.com). No one forced anyone to buy his books.

So go right ahead and continue to show your childish, immature side and call the guy names. Meanwhile his message is resonating LOUD AND CLEAR with a HUGE audience, most of whom can tell the difference between partisan bullshit and real passion.

This guy will go down in history is a MAJOR positive force in the world. He's helped ignite others to get involved.

While I am not arguing that he dosen't belive strongly in what he is saying he wouldn't be charging $40,000 a pop to speak at colleges if he wasn't at least somewhat in it for the money.

Good for you.
They rip his film but 90% of those ripping it, haven't seen it.
Haven't seen F 9/11 yet, but if he stayed true to form, there's no doubt plenty to rip on.
They call him a slimeball, fat and so forth, but none of that says anything about his views.
No, but its funny and true.
The bottom line is that the Right cannot come up with much against this guy because HE HAS NO SINISTER MOTIVES.

Why must he lie about the AWB, then?
He's not doing all this to make money (that he is speaks volumes about how infuriated MANY of us are with today's issues) and is doing it for the purest of reasons.

*cough*$40,000 a pop to speak at events and schools*cough* He may be in it because he believes what he's spewing (sad indeed), but he's making quite a pretty penny on the side.
He has an opinion and is making his case in the best way he knows. No one forced anyone to buy a ticket to his movie. No one forced anyone to buy the DVD (now the #4 top-seller at Amazon.com). No one forced anyone to buy his books.

I don't see that accusation anywhere.
So go right ahead and continue to show your childish, immature side and call the guy names.

Hardly any need; he does a good enough job making an ass of himself if you let him. Ann Coulter in reverse. But if you say so... *Laughs at Moore's stupidity, particularly with the "Brief History of the United States" segment of BfC, which stands as a testament to either how low the man's willing to stoop or how stupid he really is; take your pick.*
Meanwhile his message is resonating LOUD AND CLEAR with a HUGE audience, most of whom can tell the difference between partisan bullshit and real passion.
Evidently not, because every minute of his movies that I've seen has consisted of partisan bullshit.
This guy will go down in history is a MAJOR positive force in the world. He's helped ignite others to get involved.
*Reviews a few choice bits of Bowling for Columbine.* Yeah, I'm not sure that that's a good thing, given the methods he's using and the end he's driving at.
It's Rogue, not Rouge!
