Let's show everyone where we live and why it's so great!
OK here's some info on where I live.
Korsnäs(Finland, Europe) covers an area of 146 square miles and has a population of 2300.
It's a coastal county, as counties go we're the most western of all mainland counties in Finland, 98% of the population speaks swedish, a ratio which strangely enough exceeds all counties in sweden as well, making it the most swedish county on earth.
We also have the largest sweetwater lake in western finland, I live 100 meters from it.
It is actually a very strong and growing community, 50% of the people here are small bussiness owners, mainly fur farming and greenhouses, though we also have some metal industry and a whole boatload of other companies in everything from soap and shampoo to IT.
All in all there's around 200 small bussiness here or so.

Molpe, the second largest town, also the most northern one, like all towns here this is the centre but it's really, really spread out over a huge area:

This is country livin' and I wouldn't have it any other way, I have to travel 15km to get to the nearest gas station and thats the way I like it!

Well, I just threw this together for shits and giggles, couple of pictures on there are other peoples from tourist sites etc on the internet, the bridge at night, hadrians wall and the castle shots, but the rest are mine. Nothing special, but it's home.
More castles than you can shake a stick at, remote, with Newcastle Upon Tyne at it's heart, definately European Capital of Culture 2008, as I refuse to acknowledge the victory of Liverpool.

i live in Stuttgart.
it sucks.
the city was assrammed in WWII and rebuilt to be ugly as fuck.
we have the nekar, the local river. sadly the urban developers decided not to implement the river into the city at all and planned a bunch of industrial sites around it. even the river is ugly.
population: 600.000 or so people live in stuttgart. they tend to be dickheads. loads of schickimicki shit whichis particularly annoying for the nightlife scene. snot nosed, hand bag carrying, over make uped snob chicks with an "i´m proud to be arrogant and let everybody know"- attitude.
fuck you stuttgart. fuck you to hell!
p.s.: the uni is good. for architecture anyway. that´s why i´m staying.

The inner city with the Old and New Castle is very nice, we have a very pleasant geography, and the Stuttgart region is one of Europe's biggest economic boom centers around.salm wrote:i live in Stuttgart.

So it's not bad.
I actually very much like my city.
Munich is FAR worse when it comes down to snot-nosed people.

Well here in Kansas, we have...
...Boeing.
But then the city bends over to the company at every opportunity.
We also have...
...little or no rednecks.
But then again...
...we have no shortage of fundies...
...including 2 senators.
The traffic isn't too bad, but in certain places roads are very shitty.
We actually have a nuke plant, but we'll never hear the end of antinuclear bitching.
And all the while enviro-nuts are clamoring for wind energy, and when people start putting up turbines, they whine about it "detracting from the landscape" and killing birds. Well it was your fucking idea in the first place!
Yeah, Kansas has its tradeoffs.

i wouldn't go so far as to say my city's great by any stretch of the word. though it's at least mildly tolerable to live in, except for the incredibly shitty job market.

Edit: Maryland and its prettiness:
Beautiful farmland everywhere! At least out in the country where I live.
More beautiful scenery...
Charming historic towns like this area of Ellicott City.
The Inner Harbor
And...Fells Point, Baltimore, which is a GREAT place to party with friends.

yep, munich IS worse. but just because we´re only second with the amount of arrogant fuckheads that doesn´t make it better. So it's not bad.

i mean 95% of all places to go in the evening are loaded with these idiots. really, the only discos and similar places i like are: die röhre, wagenburg halle, sometimes the zollamt, and of course the palast in the summer. and the rockabilly and soul parties at the hiclub (and even that´s packed with said people).
that´s it. the rest is pure shit like the barcode, the climax the suite, the romy S, the palais, the bett, the ZAP, perkins park, the M1 (oh, how i despise it), proton, prag, zapata... i could go on for ever with clubs i hate in stuttgart.
don´t let me get started with lounges, either.
hell, stuttgart doesn´t even have a handfull of decent bars.

Here are some of the views I can see daily. Ahhh...... beautiful British Columbia. This is Vancouver.
The city at night looks pretty
These have been known to wander into stores, hospitals and houses, I kid you not
And here is where we feed disfunctional children to the pigeons
