my favorite Star Wars Movie is
Drumroll......

The Empire Strikes Back

Why

1> The Imperial March, I was in a music class and the Professor said that only a genious could write a March in a Minor key. The Imperial March is in D-Minor. this shows the shear genious of John Williams.

2> The Exicuter and the Battle Of Hoth, This is the best surprise of the movie. the scene with the Exicuter starts with what we think of a massive Star destroyer(Imp March in Background) and than a shadow menasingly covers it followed by only a peek at the monstorous Exicuter (March builds), as if emphisizing the thought what could be bigger than a Star Destroyer. Cut to the Battle of Hoth. It has everything AT-AT's, Airspeeders, and the biggest Star Wars land battle til AOC. watch this cool clip http://atomfilms.shockwave.com/af/content/battle_hoth

3> Cloud City, Lando and his double cross, Vader and his sword fight with Luke, and the whole "I am your Father" thing.

4> Vader's Dropping Officers, nuf said ack, ack ,ack, Ahhhh

5> and of course this in one of the few movies that was not afraid to let the bad guys WIN. This helps show the excellent writing geniuos of GL. It shows integrity of a writer to tell a story keep it in spite of fears of unpopularity, loss of profits, ect.

Empire.
Battle on Hoth. "Apology accepted captain Needa." Boba "The Man" Fett makes his appearance. Luke gets his ass kicked.

I loved ESB. I liked the music, the story, and the feeling. I just think that AotC was a better movie because it tied the entire saga together in a way that ESB didn't do. It is actually fairly unusual for the second of three movies to do such a thing, but the way it was done was absolutely brilliant. I love the movie. I love the plot. I love the story. I think that Episode II was the greatest of all Star Wars.

Empire! Empire! Empire!

I love 'em all. I still recall seeing ANH (then known as just Star Wars) in the theater waaaaaay back in '77 as a wee lad of 8.

In fact, I can clearly recall the first time I saw each film, the memories are so engraved into my mind.

The Empire Strikes Back has the be the best SW movie. What movie do you remember that the bad guys won and the movie did well in the box office. Except for Episode 2 which seemed like one of the best movies to only Star Wars fans. maby because we were the only ones who really understood it. Anyways what movie has characters in capes, bad guys win, suprise endings, an old but wise creature that lives in a swamp? Empire. It had everything that is needed to be a great movie. My only problems is what is the thing at the end of Empire that the Falcon flies to and Luke and Leia watch on? It looks like a galaxy but I know its suppose to be a solar system, but which one?

Incidentally, Roger Ebert's response when I sent him "The Symbolism of Star Wars" was to send me a chain e-letter thanking me for my interest in the show. Fat bastard. Anyway, I think you are right. Only SW fans understood Episode II. Kind of disappointing, but that doesn't mean it isn't the best movie in SW history.
