Hi new here want some help.
Hello I'm new here been looking at some info here due to my friend and I bringing up ST vs SW.
I'm for SW
Well there is something else I started in aonther forum I am trying to back up my stuff i put on there and show where he is wrong. but its tough to show one of these STians down lol. oh yeah I am keeping it fed against emps.
here is the page of the thread if you would like to look. Also if you see any errors in my info can you please tell me?
Thanks
Tech^
oh I been wondering this how did the falcon escape from their radars in ESB? did it use some type ECM or some stealth way? but knowing slave 2 followed the falcon with out detection suggest they have the ability to do that in its own right.
Thanks for your help
And yes I am going to use the search feature to find more info so don't worry about telling me that. Also to the creator of this site Thanks I finally found more SW info.

If you mean when the Falcon was stationary on the bridge tower of an Imperator, the sensor domes did not detect it as it was hiding in a blind spot.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Ask them about anything to show that Star Trek that can compare to the firepower that the Slave-1 demonstrated(the Siesmic mine alone)
Also ask for examples of any power to compete with the 200GT(this is canon) from a 20 year old Transport.
Literally they are using the worst way of debating by handwaving and giving the low end examples without actually proving their own proof is higher or more valid.

The only thing I see in that thread are the same crappola arguements spouted for years. From the looks of it all you had to do was keep asking for evidence to back up their claims as it would appear they started opening their mouths about it first thus the burden on them.
It has also detracted to things such as "laser is beaten by disintegration" crap which is not what the thread in which you started, is about.

Sorry for my nitpicking but what transport was that? Was it the one AOTC where it drop of the clones? Sorry I have seen AOTC but I haven't seen it as much as 1,4,5,6Ghost Rider wrote:Ask them about anything to show that Star Trek that can compare to the firepower that the Slave-1 demonstrated(the Siesmic mine alone)

I though I gave them a fairer number of ships I'm not sure I will have to do the math of the amount of damage they would do to the ISD on teh first volley of attack. But now I think thats not even enough to take down a ISD's shields.
Only partialy correct. The newer canon states they deal with both sensors and shields. This is supported by multiple instances of EU examples where the domes relate to the ships shields.Ghost Rider wrote:Sensor Globes.

So in essence they are STILL shield domes as well. However, this entire issue is relatively minor when you factor in the little piece of information "Shields must be down to destroy the domes in the first place".

Well unless somehow you manage to keep the craft hiden from their scopes to the last move of destroying the globes if they didn't have their shields raise you would still have to final break through their shields.Alyeska wrote:Only partialy correct. There is still the problem of getting through the shields in the first place to do that.Tech^salvager wrote:Well unless somehow you manage to keep the craft hiden from their scopes to the last move of destroying the globes if they didn't have their shields raise you would still have to final break through their shields.Alyeska wrote:Only partialy correct. Actually, in the ITW book, the domes are fully utilized for hyperwave comms and weapons coordination. The spires around the globes are local area shields.Alyeska wrote:Only partialy correct. That would be very unlikely, as even a small shuttle will be noticed traveling around and even then close to an Imperial vessel.Tech^salvager wrote:I meant with shields down.

And that would be a nitpick. The basic object of the globes have to do with shields and removing them degrade shield capacity. And they make wonderful targets for taking out. Destroy them and bridge area shields are degraded as well as sensors and communication.Lord Poe wrote:Actually, in the ITW book, the domes are fully utilized for hyperwave comms and weapons coordination. And yet the book explicitly states that the globes (when I say globe I mean anything and everything attached to it) they relate to shield function. This is further supported through a variety of EU references.Lord Poe wrote:Uh, no, once again. The globes have ZERO to do with shields. That's not a nitpick; that's a correction to the above.Alyeska wrote:And that would be a nitpick. The basic object of the globes have to do with shields and removing them degrade shield capacity.

In all actuality if the board is friendly and really no sign of invasion(ie...not RaptureReady, TK or the ilk) it's not needed.

The proven most effective weapon against ISDs is the A=Wing's Ion Cannon, or just a straight up kamikaze ramming. The enterprise uses phaser technology and proton torpedos, not ion-based weaponry, though a good ramming by one Enterprise with all the power re-routed to the shields should be more than enough.
Interesting friends you have...Tech^salvager wrote:The proven most effective weapon against ISDs is the A=Wing's Ion Cannon, or just a straight up kamikaze ramming. Can they name an instance where a Enterprise-Class starship was used to ram a larger ship and the shields protected it?
Hell... can they name an instance where a Constitution-class (NCC-1701, no B, C, or D) survived ramming a larger ship?
