Here's the link.
The Company confirmed that Half-Life 2, developed by Valve Software, has gone gold with a planned retail street date of November 16, 2004. The countdown to the highly anticipated retail street date has begun around the world, as VU Games completes plans to ship localized versions of Half-Life 2 simultaneously in English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Korean, Thai and Japanese.

Argh, I have to wait a month to play even though the entire damn game is already on my harddrive? Bleh. I checked my Steam list and it's still "coming soon". :|

Beautiful sig, by the way. Though I prefer the cereal commercial. 8)

How many times has the planned release date been pushed back? with Valve and VUG trading potshots in court, I wouldn't be suprised if VUG fucked them over again.

Wow, that puts it up there with Alpha Centauri, and IIRC a bit higher than the original. I MUST BUY!!!!

I HAVE THE FIRST HALF LIFE 2 REVIEW! WOOOOT

Okey, PCG gives it a 98% and a 10 page review, saying
Simple: it makes Far Cry weep, and it smacks doom 3 with its own flashlight.

Score 98%.

Highs: everything: graphics, plot, gameplay. its what experts have been predicting for this medium.
Lows: squadmates sometimes get in your way, low res textures in HUGE outdoor scenes.
if anyone wants excerpts, i'll give.

HL2 has also been preloading on Steam, so I think this is legit.

You guys listen to reviews? That industry has hardly been reputable for nearly a decade!

Still, it'll be cool to have something to do until Stalker becomes Best Game Of The Third Millenium. Shame bout steam tho... I hope there are interesting mods planned, I hated HLs laughably linear singleplayer. Please don't mention CS. :) I'm expecting something very special :)

yes, the review is overhyped, but they arn't exactly lieing.. So I chose to belive them, and gawk at the screenies (there are advantages to print magazines).

It's in the November of the US PCG, dunno what it would be elsewhere.
