If Bush wins...

What are the odds that the Republicans will attempt to ramrod through an amendment to repeal the 22nd?

Unlikely; if I'm remembering the correct Amendment, Clinton could then run against Dubya.

Possibly, but unlikely. They would have Clinton's support (he wants to repeal the 22nd Amendment).

Virtually nil. Its to both parties equal advantage to have the President term limited. They both know that, especially in this the Age of Apathy, that it wouldn't be hard at all for a silver-tounged bastard to get a stranglehold on the White House. They'd love if it was their guy but both are aware that it could easily be "the other Guy" that does it.

Plus, believe it or not the RNC is smart enough to know a Bush win in '08 won't because of his strength but Kerry's weaknesses.

Kerry's running in 08? Sweet crystal ball; it got any stock tips? :D

Sorry, I should have said '04, sometimes tabbed browsing can be distracting at exactly the wrong times.

As stock tips, I'd instead invest it in a good bunker in Montana.

None. I actually thought that this thread was going to be a "If Bush wins, which country are you moving to?" thread.

If Bush win's I'm going to apply for a position at NAB (national Australia Bank). I used to work for HomeSide Lending anyway (pwned by NAB) and I'll brush up on my G'days and croikeys.

And you can take that to the bank (Until it gets shut down, that is)

Doubt it, since I don't think there would be much popular support for it. It would probably be viewed as being arrogant and self-serving.

If Bush wins the Republicans are going to be too busy trying to survive the next four years as all of their mistakes come back to bite them in the ass. Honestly, it's probably in their interest to lose so Kerry can take some of the blame.

No, the 22nd Amendment would not be repealed, for the obvious reason that Clinton is still alive if nothing else.

ROTFLMAO.

Whew.

Agreed. You'll see the Arnie Amendment get some serious looking at, but both parties knows that there is no advantage in repealing the 22nd. And if there is no advantage to it, why do anything?

When I saw the thread title, I definately didn't think the 22nd Amendment was going to be brought up. Nobody really cares to change it, and should Bush win he/they'll have plenty of other screwball amendments (*cough"DEFENCE OF MARRIAGE"cough*) to waste their time on.

There's always talk about Arnold as the next big candidate for the repubs, but even if that doesn't work out they still got Bush's prettyboy latino nephew. Not sure if he's old enough for 2008 though.

Well whoever wins, the losing side has a lot of work to do as well.
The Arnie Amendment might be interesting if it went through. Who else do the Reps have for 08??

Democrats will probably go on an Edwards/H.Clinton ticket?? (though Martin Sheen should stand!! :D)

Martin Sheen is a Left Wing nut case! Don't get me wrong, I love the show 'The West Wing' a lot, I think the guy is a talented actor, and I would vote for Bartlet anytime of the day, but Matin Sheen != Jeb Bartlet :!:

Maybe we could run Sheen for Prez, along with the show's writers as backup?
