On the lighter side: Sinn Fein Whackiness.

Post by SirNitram »

British MPs now have their Parlimentary expenses publicized! Jolly good, jolly good. I think we can all agree public oversight is a good thing. But that's not what drew my eye to this story from the BBC.

I was drawn by the amusing quip that gets passed over:
There were also claims from Sinn Fein MPs, with West Belfast MP Gerry Adams receiving £109,315 in expenses, and £110,653 for Martin McGuinness, although none of the party's four MPs sit in Parliament.
Now, I am fine with Sinn Fein's protests, but honestly, you shouldn't have six figures of expenses when you aren't even there. Oh well. We don't charge them with criminal bombings and terrorism anymore, just tax evasion.. We civilized them at last!

(Note: The previous post was made in jest. If you were offended, remove the fucking stick from your ass and mock the politicians.)

I never thought i'd see the words "Sinn Fein" and "lighter side" in the same sentence.

I'd probably be amused if any of those names meant something to me. :?

Martin McGuinness and Gerry Adams used to kill people for a living, now they whine and moan about the other guys who whine about him and his lot (whilst whining and moaning about British people in general).

Neither of them will assume their duties as MP's because it would mean swearing an oath of allegiance to the Queen, apparently this doesn't prevent them from spending British citizens money set aside of those duties though.
