A shitty job with women voters? If the polls are to be believed, Kerry is doing much better with women than Shrub is.Kerry is doing a shitty job with women voters, I dont think anyone on this board can deny that. But at least hes not trying to scare them into voting for him. Thats the last thing this society needs...freaked out mothers who teach their children how to be that way.

Lots of news stories this week on CNN, FOx and MSNBC talk about how kerry has lost a lot of the women vote that democrats traditionally have a powerful command of. CNN quoted a poll this morning that said Married women were voting for Bush 49 to 43 percent while single women support Kerry 49 to 41 %...but that 8 point lead in the single category is usually in the upper teens for the democrat candidate. In this article:
http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/10/22/women. ... index.html
at the bottom you see that Gallup has Kerry only leading by 6 points in the overall female voters category. Thats an amazing turn around for the republicans from last years election.

Did Bush sell his soul to the devil or something? How the hell can this race be so close?

Tell people the lies they want to believe. Tell them that they are winning the War on Terror, that they are well protected right now, and if they just keep on doing what they are doing they will win and have lower taxes.

Probably a mixture of incompetence in the Kerry capmaign and the die-hard religous types on the right that would probably support Bush no matter how much he screws up as long as them gays aren't marrying.Bob the Gunslinger wrote:Did Bush sell his soul to the devil or something? Karrde seems to be under the impression that fairness is defined as bashing and parroting both sides of an issue equally.
Fairness is not a matter how you treat each side of an issue. Fairness is defining an objective and reasonable standard for each side to live up to and then examining each side's performance without bias. If one side falls short, there's nothing wrong with bashing it. Bush just happens to consistently fall short, and there is nothing wrong with pointing that out. It's not as if by doing so, we're automatically declaring that Kerry's side is correct; that's a false dilemma. This board has resoundingly criticized both Bush's and Kerry's stances on gay marriage because both just happen to be wrong.

I'm reminded of the SNL skit during the 1988 presidential debates. Dana Carvey rattles off Bush Sr's "Thousand Points of Light" nonsense, and the moderator turns to Dukakis (played by John Lovitz) and says, "Governor Dukakis, your response?"Bob the Gunslinger wrote:Did Bush sell his soul to the devil or something?
