Yep, then weeks of accusations of unfair election practices. And then begins the reminiscing of the Bush dynasty.

That's assuming that the Democrats weeks of lawsuits pay off. Didn't last time. :wink:

This is far from over yet unless there is a very clear winner. Prepare yourselves for weeks of lawsuits and counter lawsuits and accusations!!!

Oh, there'll be lawsuits a plenty. The Democrats have already readied them, and it would suprise me if the Republicans haven't as well.

Personally, I still curse the state of Florida for screwing it up.

I almost want this to go to lawsuits, at this point. Especially if something screwy happens like Bush winning the popular vote and losing the electoral vote. That would be so much fun to watch as politicians raced to "flip-flop" on what they said the last time. Oh, man, I can't even imagine the hypocrisy of it all.

I wonder if the Congressional Black Caucus already has a senator lined up to sign their objection this time.

if not the funniest that can ever be.
For I dipt into the future, far as human eye could see,
Saw the Vision of the world, and all the wonder that would be;
Saw the heavens fill with commerce, argosies of magic sails,
Pilots of the purple twilight dropping down with costly bales;
Heard the heavens fill with shouting, and there rain'd a ghastly dew
From the nations' airy navies grappling in the central blue;

The funniest would be a tie where the house awards it to the President and the Senate awards to Edwards.

Except only the house gets to vote on it.

Fuck it, I hope the system collapses and a civil war breaks out.
If Religion and Politics were characters on a soap opera, Religion would be the one that goes insane with jealousy over Politics' intimate relationship with Reality, and secretly murder Politics in the night, skin the corpse, and run around its apartment wearing the skin like a cape shouting "My votes now! All votes for me! Wheeee!" -- Lagmonster

If you believe Moore, you had one 4 years ago.

I guess it's not as exciting as in Steven Seagull movies. :P

THe problem is, these days the campaign seasons never end. All through this Presidency, we heard about stolen election, selected not elected, etc... it just would not die. I guarantee that no matter who wins this election, the other side will drag out the "illegitimacy" of it until the next four years have dragged by.

I actually think this is a disturbing trend in US politics. THe more we point and scream "illegitimate elaction! Not my president!" the more we sound like a banana republic.

And at some point, some whacko will take it to heart and we'll have an assassination on our hands.
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
