Seriously though, how small was the crowd there? Was it honestly that hard to get a real military picture of Bush supporters? I've seen him surrounded by military too many times to believe that this is anything more than a lazy design artist.

there probably were soldiers standing there but they had to be replaced since they were black and therefore not suitable for an advertisment. the guy on right, next to the flag is only in there for the quota.

I think something was removed from the photo and they were lazy with there replacements.

The ad's being pulled, according to USA Today. The article made it sound as if the Republican Party was rather embarassed about the whole issue. IIRC (I already recycled the paper), they blamed it on a staffer who didn't think about the effect of copy-and-pasting faces in a publicity photograph

Uhm, what was the point? From what I saw in the link they were just taking Bush out of the picture so they'd have the whole wall of soldiers there, for whatever reason.

This really did not take all that long to do....

(The ironic thing is, the original soldiers I got the template from had to be covered up to make the picture look better.)
