Who the heck wants to be at the over priced top?
900+$ for a Athlon FX-55 add another 50$ for a quality cooler
200~+ $ for a nForce4 SLI
2GB of 512X4 OCZ rev. 3 RAM for 200+$
Pair of 6800 ultra at 1000$
Audigy 2 ZD platinium at 150~$
Raptor 74GB 10K RPM
Maxline3 300GB 16MB cache

you want to spend all that 3000$+ money for a computer obselete from the top by March? who the heck does outside the super rich?

2 things:

Most high preformance gaming motherboards have no SCSI connectors (I could be wrong, but thats what i recall).

SCSI only adds more price, proving my point.

Why spend anything over 2.5k on a computer system?
What kind of gains?

For most people, 3000$ is WAY out of their price range.

What kind of benefits do you gain from SCSI outside of bragging rights (which are stupid).

At what added price?
Who in the reguler world (I.E non enterprise\server) do you need the added I\O preformance? today SATA drives are allready fast enough for personal use.
Faster speeds? again, see above, who needs?
7 items? I imagine SOME people need that, again, do most people need it? no.

Again, it comes down to Price VS preformance benefit, where SCSI falls way short today.

You realize thats a very tiny minority that buys Alienware? and those that buy the 4K and 5K systems are even smaller minority in there?

The ratio is less, but would you buy a 6800 Ultra? NO, because its cheaper and better to get a GT, and safely OC it to Ultra levels.

Theres allways the idiots who want the abseloutly tweaked rig when they can build it for less.

Dosn't change the fact that being at the top is worthless and in-efficient.

You don't think someone who spends anywhere from 1 to 2k extra for a brand name is an idiot?

So I suppose you think the added price of a 6800Ultra is also okey?
And have no problem buying any of the upper end brand names?

If you have the knowledge to choose the top quality parts, you should have the knowledge to know the brand name only gives you warrenty, a promise that it will work, and bragging rights.

EDIT: I still fail to see why anyone should get the way top end, which was my ORIGINAL point, answer it instead of nitpicking.

They can? same way as saying like a kid in reply to a parent "Because!", and its no more a valid answer here.
And heres the 3rd goal of the forum, mockery of stupid people. HA!

Why IRC? so you can run away again to your chat room filled with your 'support group', to go into an 'unformal' enviorment for tiny replies with no substance? a forum is infinitly better.

Still waiting on a REAL reason to buy the ultra high end, what next? buying a Ultra Extream or a P4EE?

Support? last time I fell for that you had your whole gang there. Real time my ass, dosn't give time to write a decent rebuttel.

Because they can is NOT a valid reason outside of idiots, do you buy the newest shit 'because"? NO, because there is NO benefit.

It does make them idiots for wasting extra money in this money centered society.

Again, why the fuck go to an IRC network, where I am forced to write short, sub standerd replies and where you can do anything you want?

It isn't a valid reason unless your a millionaire or someone who's leeching off someone else's money, money is not just a toy.

So how would you define idiot? the person who blows 300$ on a stupid FX?
P.S the example was just to keep it in the same subject of computers.

Thats a retarded, so by that definition, fundies arn't retarded? actully, scratch that, bad example, so by that definition you think Bush isn't an idiot?

P.S thanks for 'well anwering' my 2 other points.

EDIT: again, IRC is not a good enviorment for debating, line by line, no easy way to quote text, and hard to insert edits fast.
