How/where did you get your sig/avatar?

Post by Asst. Asst. Lt. Cmdr. Smi »

Some of my sig is just things I made up, and I got my avatar from a picture I found at Saxton's Technical Commentaries, about Imperial ranks and uniforms. I thought it looked funny.

My signature is from "The Simpsons," one of the greatest comedy series of all time. I thought it was appropriately disrespectful. My avatar is from the cover of Catch-22, and was chosen to try and maintain some of the original "charm" (as Stravo put it), of not having an avatar despite my already high post count. I got the avatar after Mr. Bean threatened me with making my avatar an embarrassing picture of me commenting of how 50 comic books was greater than my IQ.

My avatar is a Dragonstriker Exo-armor from Jovian Chronicles.

The first part of my sig is to poke a bit of fun at fundamentalists while getting across that I am Christian myself, though a liberal one who believes that science is good.

Second is an inside joke from the Heavy Gear universe.

Third is my way of saying I read David Weber's books and like them

Fourth is just a joke, since every post adds +1 to the post count (until that evil tyrant Mr. Bean deletes them :P j/k, Bean).

Fifth is an old joke from school, when we read The Wind in the Willows. We were playing practical jokes on a friend, and he was trying to say we were all weasels, but couldn't remember the word weasel, so he said "you are all a bunch of stoats." Just struck me as funny.

My avatar should be recognizable to all the WH4)Kers. It's the NightLord's badge.

And my sig is cobbled together from all sorts of places. The Cult of Weber is the name for the Weber devotees on Sb.com. The quote before my rank is from Revelations. The horsemen stuff is self explantory. And the rest are just quote I like, the sources are noted.

My avatar is one I stole from somebody that I use on boards that don't have big enough avatars to use my normal one. I'm thinking of switching to a different Catch-22 one though, I really like the picture on the cover of mine.

Signature is self-explanatory: idiots in their element.

Both sig and avatar are out of Xenogears for me. The avatar is the symbol of the Church in the game, while the quote is one that I found especially appropriate for the board in its inappropriateness (thus prompting me to use the avatar I did as well). I'll switch to something else when I finally make Padawan again.

My current avatar is the devil himself, from the cover of the Iron Maiden album "The Number of the Beast". It's subject to change at any moment, I'm already in double digits for avatars used, damn rabid monkey title.

1st sig line is a quote I found somewhere that amused me.

2nd one is the motto of the bike shop where I now work, it's incredible how dumb people can be.

3rd one's self explanatory

Last one says "brotherhood of the monkey", or at least it use to before I ran the phrase through a web based translation site about 20 times and had it translated back and forth into over 10 different languages.

A great game BTW, although, I never fully understood the entire plot and the who/what/where about all the characters.

I made mine in MS Paint and got the pictures/sig from Aqua Teen Hunger Force on Adult Swim...specifically, the Mooninites.

the current avatar is clan star adder, I originally used a model ISD, then a f-15 and finally clan steel viper before settling for the current serpent logo, I haven't changed my sig however.

My current avatars:

Cammy White (My main one, which I use when I'm not experimenting. I've been using it regularly for over a year.)

Big Bird (This was the first avatar I used on this board, before switching to Cammy)

Asuka Langley Soryu (I have about nine Asuka avatars that I've recently made. These are what I'm experimenting with.)

Sig:

1. The Picture with Japanese text says "kidou senshi Z gandamu", which is the name for the 80s anime series Mobile Suit Z Gundam (Z is pronounced "zeta".) This show is the pinnicle of the Gundam Saga, and my personal favorite.
The text below it is paraphrased from the series' first opening, reflecting my devotion.

2. This is paraphrased from one of the last lines in The End of Evangelion, and is what I consider to be one of the most important messages in Eva.

3. Praise for everyone's favourite "space nazis", the Principality of Zeon from Mobile Suit Gundam.

4. Announcement that I'm currently working on an Eva fanfic.
