Idea for a Star Wars videogame ...

I'd like a game like the first part of Imperium Galactica. Start off as a starship captain, work your way up to squadron command and military control of some border systems. Eventually you could be a Moff and control large numbers of planets. You could start off as a captain before ANH and play right through the fall of the Empire with you ending up as part of the Imperial Remnent or the New Republic, or maybe go it alone.
And make a dynaverse-style server. For those of you who haven't played Starfleet Command 3, it's a mode of online play (there are usually 6 or 7 dynaverse servers, in addition to hundreds of pvp games on gamespy) where there is a large map. You start out with a small ship and move from sector to sector, attacking enemy ships in them, and you can invade enemy sectors and attack them repeatedly to conquer them. I'd like to see something like you described above with a dynaverse style map. You can attack Rebel bases (or vice versa) to gain prestige, or defend your space. Once you reach Moff level, you compete with other moffs for control of territories, and can organize fleets to strike and conquer New Republic territories and control the battles Armada style.

This I like, up to the point of the multiplayer, and thats only because I suck at it Being the commander of a taskforce sounds quite cool, plus if you had the option of capturing the resources (starbases, spacedocks, planets) you could use that as prestige to purchase upgrades, bigger ships, training academies and bases.
Oh I wish I had any programming ability to whatsoever. Hell even a 2d, turnbased SW strategy game would be cool

I would like a game that simulatet the life of a smuggler,maybe coupled with some D20 charecter creation rules.
Think about it..one moment you're dodging the imperials because you have 20 kilos of spice in your cargohold,the next moment you're selling information to the imperials about a spicering that "opperates in this sector"(after you made your dropoff of cause).
Smuggling,gambling,a little pirateering all i the name of off the almighty Credit.
