Voted absentee last week with a straight Republican ticket (as if that will make any difference here in Oregon, which is leaning heavily Democratic this time around). One ballot measure is raising as much fuss over here as the Presidential election, however, and might have some effects on a national level -- Measure 36, which bans gay marriage. Voted no for that one.

Bush/Cheney
Pete Coors for senate
Libertarian for the rest. I'm not too impressed with the local republican party ATM.

Voted against all of the ballot initiatives except for the one that would raise taxes to help fund wildfire prevention.

Just got back. Wrote in McCain for President. They won't count it, but it was a protest vote anyway. Voted against the constitutional amendment (I'm sure you can guess what it was about ), and Jim Bunning for Senate. Didn't know enough about the rest to vote in good conscience.

Just voted for Kerry/Edwards, and voted AGAINST the gay marriage amendment in Ohio.
"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

Voted for Bush

Had an interesting incident occur on my way to the booth however:

There was a table set up for moveon.org just outside the polling center (which happens to be the lobby of my apartment building). The guy sitting there calls me over and asks me if Im registered democrat. I tell him no and he asks me why. I say "why not." He pauses, looks at my face, then directly at my pregnant belly, back at my face and asks "are you married?"

As I told red, if I had had a knife....

But other than this, voting went well. Pull lever to close curtain, pull levers of who you want, pull red level to clear and open curtain.

Voted this afternoon, exactly as I said I would. As it turns out, there were two ballot initiatives, both local and both to do with establishing trust funds to buy and preserve open space (farmland, fields, woods, etc). It's a big issue in New Jersey since we're running out of undeveloped land. Since I'm in favor of open space preservation, I put my money where my mouth is and voted for the funds, which also authorized a small tax increase to pay for them if necessary.

Absentee Ballot. Voted for Kerry/Edwards, Betty Castor, and the incumbent Sheriff for Palm Beach County, as well as Democrat for all else. Voted yes on Amendment 4, voted No for Amendment 1, yes for capping attorney fees, and no for that stupid three strikes malpractice law. Stupid amendment in the first place, if you ask me.

Dubya.

My county (in Florida non the less) has what has to be the most simple of voting procedures. Take a black pen and fill in the circle. Why can't the rest of the country look to the third grade for voting methods iinstead of faulty computers and crap.

Kerry, and, er, my choices for other candidates amounted to a Republican against an Independent. Niiice showing there, Demos. Real nice. Disappointed, though, no challengers for me to flay alive. Not even any exit pollers for me to be sarcastic to. Dull trip.

I voted Kerry for Pres, Carson for Senate. I can't elect a guy to senate who yaps about killing docs for doing something that we dislike (by we I mean him and me.) Roe vs Wade was final has far has I'm concerned.

And my deep disillusionment and bitterness with Bush is covered in many another thread, if you really care that bad PM and I'll explain in deep dark detail how I went from voting for him in 2000 and being a part of the first wave into Iraq to hating him.

Voted against banning cival unions and gay marriage. Voted for higher tabacco tax (.04$ per smoke in package, damnnnn.)

For the democracy that's gone the longest uninterrupted in the world, the American voting system is unbelievably fucked up. Just tick a damn box for the candidate, fold the paper, put it in the box. Voting machines, dimpled chads, stupid shit ... there should be one uniform everywhere.

Well, last night I asked a friend of mine if I knocked him out, wrapped him up in duct tape and locked him in a closet so he couldn't vote if he would mind. Then I got into a discussion with two Bushites. One of them seriously said to the fact that Bush lost jobs that "Well they're lying." at that point I just said my head hurts and left. Then I voted for Kerry.
