Hey, only because I work there. Helps to know what we're covering. Plus it's the homepage at work.

Slashdot.org

Even important general news will show up there~
"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

In order that I visit:

www.antiwar.com (it links news articles from all over)
www.smh.com.au (for Aussie news)
www.foxnews.com (because it has a simple format and the polls are always ridiculously skewed to the right-wing interpretation- for a laugh)

Think of it this way- I like the hardware, the organizations. I enjoy reading about it after it happens. But I'm anti-the war actually happening, in so far as I think the war is a stupid one (if it's justified, that's another story). I happened upon it during the Kosovo debacle.

The exact same stance as myself, comrade Vympel. Warfare has cool toys, but no one likes it if it is unnecessary bloodshed and with loved ones involved.

You also enlightened me to Disinfopedia.org as well, another good source on politics and current affairs issues.

BBC is my main source for news.

Bless the Beeb.

It has the added advantage of being fine for both local and international news for me. Also on my list of stopping points for news is Reuters, but after that it's usually off to the papers to read what opinions of events are now I know what the events are. ;)

I have my homepage set to Google news, so I skim the headlines there whenever I open my browser. I also typically listen to the news on the radio when I wake up in the morning. The rest I get mainly from message boards.
