While I'm an american, albeit a fictional one, I do feel Spyder has a point.
The way elections are conducted in the real US quite simply baffle me, as does the fact that fellow sd.netizens (who are supposedly at least reasonably intelligent) actually vote for Bush.
Oh hell. Clark and me ousted a fictional but extremely clever and (pre-Venom) rational (albeit evil) President, if need be we can do it to a real-world but utterly icompetent (albeit propably not evil) and irrational one.
Needless to say, if I were a real american, I'd have voted for Kelly (and have been WWF Heavyweight Champion of the world several times quite a while ago :P )
'Next time I let Superman take charge, just hit me. Real hard.'
'You're a princess from a society of immortal warriors. I'm a rich kid with issues. Lots of issues.'
'No. No dating for the Batman. It might cut into your brooding time.'
'Tactically we have multiple objectives. So we need to split into teams.'-'Dibs on the Amazon!'
'Hey, we both have a Martian's phone number on our speed dial. I think I deserve the benefit of the doubt.'
'You know, for a guy with like 50 different kinds of vision, you sure are blind.'

Well, this was my first participation at a presidential election.

Voted for Kerry, and Majette for Senator. And voted against an anti-gay marriage amendment.

As if it will make any differnence.

Damn, check the top of the page on the main N&P page. I don't think I've ever seen N&P so packed.

I also hit a deer and it fucked up my car big time- patches of fur are still sticking out.

So- thats two unexpected things that happened tonight.
Devolution is quite as natural as evolution, and may be just as pleasing, or even a good deal more pleasing, to God. If the average man is made in God's image, then a man such as Beethoven or Aristotle is plainly superior to God, and so God may be jealous of him, and eager to see his superiority perish with his bodily frame.

When I just checked, we were 7 short of the record for most people logged onto SD.net ever.

I couldn't bring myself to vote for either of these morons (four guys really if you count the off parties). So I didn't vote for the Pres. If these assclowns want my vote (probably not since I live in uber Republican dominated Utah so no one comes here) they'll have to get a decent canidate.

I voted NO on the dumb ass Ban Gay Marrage Amendment too.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Why is this election on a weekday? That seems very inconvenient.

Well if iIwas old enough and a citizen I would vote for Kerry. NOt that it would really matter here in Illinois. And I would vote straight democrat apart from Mellisa Bean (for house) as she is really damn slimy. Her entire platform is that she's not the incumbent. Blah.

And my town (Barrington) is probably one of the few areas that everyone is going to vote bush  Bah, there are kids at my high school who think that they are fucking republicans because thier parents are. :banghead: . I wish these people would make thier own descisions.

Voted for Kerry this morning. Although I live in Texas, here in Austin, I see a shit load of Kerry supporters. Unfortuantly, as we all know, that won't make a difference in the rest of this state (but hopefully Kerry will get the votes he needs in other states).

I had to use a provisional ballot because apparently there were so many people registering that they haven't all been processed. And it was a really weird shade of purple. And I had to fill out this information sheet and stick the damn thing in two envelopes.

Voted for Kerry, mostly Dem., Green and Lib. once or twice.

Wish I could have transferred my vote to a state that needs it.

Also, did everyone else's ballot (or touchscreen or whatever) have about a dozen presidential candidates on it?

Yup, it was probably my vote for Kerry that swung Massachusetts for him :) No line, and the only delay was someone interviewing me about my choice. Scantronic ballots.

I really liked his speech at the convention, I hope I get to vote for him for president some day. Come to think of it, both parties had better convention speakers than candidates.

Five here. Bush, Kerry, Nader, Badnarik, and Peroutka, representing Republican, Democrat, Independent, Libertarian, and Constitution parties, respectively.

So far things are going as expected, and pretty good on my side. Bush looks fine thus far in Ohio and Florida, and all of the Gay-marriage bans seem to have passed.

This most likely is not the proper thread to enter a discussion on gay marriage, but can you care to provide your reasoning for supporting it?

I went in voted for every thing else and came back to the President. After about 5-10 minuets of looking at the ballot I made my decision... my vote

President: Me
VP: Your Mama.
