I did mention before that the Georgia vote would also ban civil unions and wouldn't recognize gay marriages or civil unions from outside the state, right?

Eh. Right now we're looking worse than Utah. It's like the Southern Baptists are competing with the Mormons over who can be the most fundamentalist. At least we're still not as bad as Mississippi.

Unfortunately, most of these states were a given. Any state that proposes such a resolution or amendment has to have heavy support for the innitiative in the legislature who believe they can carry the state. Depressing and frustrating as hell, but nothing we should be surprised about considering the demographic and political compositions of these states. Now if Kerry wins and gets some judicial appointments, we may see state judiciaries striking these down or it getting axed in the SCOTUS, but if Bush wins, it's very likely to see the whole nation go the other way.

I'm glad that Iowa hasn't had such a vote... yet... :?
I think eventually it may. I believe Iowa has a Republican legislature... however, it's still Gov. Vilsack is it not?

The majority of rural Americans disgust me. Said on CNN 10 of 11 gay bans are projected to win.

You'd think that being on the same side as 92% of those from Mississippi would be a bad thing. (JOKE) 8)

Good news... all of them passing with pretty high marks. I think it's safe to say most of America believes gay marriage shouldn't be allowed.

Proves that most of America enjoys imposing their beliefs on others. Thankfully at least here we ask people to back up their reasons with rational points, you'll be expected to do the same in the near future.

You do of course mean most Americans in red states. 11 proposals does not a majority make.

Pfft! I'd hardly call this "good news". If you're luke-warm then Christ will spit you out! Better cold than luke-warm, right? The fact that we stopped short of having an open season for queers (maybe a seperate season for muzzle-loaders) speakes volumes about the moral decay of America.

Oregon's currently at 56% in favor, with 65% reporting in. The only counties left are the backwoods, and those are certain to turn out strongly in favor. Yarcamos is completely right, as much as I hate to agree with him on this.

Hey moron, tonight we are looking at the results, and telling whether we like it or not. Not debating them. I've already said that in another thread.
