Subspace Transporters?
I was just reading parts of the site and noticed that the subspace transporters arent mentioned under the transporter section (from Bloodlines I think).
I also read that empire uses no subspace technology but wasnt a subspace shield or something like that the only way to block the transporter?.
Im sorry if this has already been answered - I will now don a special flame retardant suit since people around here seem to be very serious about the discussion.

Season 1, Ep# 22: "Skin of Evil"
DATA: Armus is capable of creating undefined forcefields. In effect, we are powerless to communicate or use our transporter unless it allows us to.
Season 1, Ep# 23: "Symbiosis"
WESLEY: Captain, deflectors are being hit by a huge burst of X-rays (bridge panels begin to short out) ... Sir, my console seems to be overloading.
WORF: The X-ray burst is disrupting systems, Captain. I'm adjusting deflectors to compensate.
...
DATA: Captain, our sensors are being severely affected by the sun flares.
...
TASHA: The solar flares are interfering with the tractor beam, Captain. I am unable to lock on.
...
RIKER: I'll beam over with a team.
TASHA: Captain -- I strongly recommend against anyone from this ship beaming over. The solar interference is too great.
...
TASHA: Have them go to their own Transporter Room. It will be tricky, but perhaps I can link the two transporters in series and get them over with the increased power.
...
TASHA: Reading six life forms... but I can't get a solid lock.
RIKER: We've no choice. Energize.
(four people materialize)
RIKER: You said six; where are the other two?
Season 3, Ep# 49: "Ensigns of Command"
WORF: Human life form readings from the planet.
RIKER: So, the Sheliak weren't hallucinating.
PICARD: Numbers?
WORF: Impossible to get an accurate reading, Captain. The high radiation levels are disrupting our sensors.
DATA: Hyperonic radiation also interferes with ship's transporters; they are now inoperable.
WORF: So are the ship's phasers
So, as these quotes from Mike Wong's extensive database clearly prove, subspace shields are not necessary to interfere with, and/or block transporters.

No this was some weird subspace transporter built by using the warp core or some such, they were not standard and they could beam though normal shields unlike normal transporters.
I think the ferengi built then but the enterprise crew made one in about 5 minutes - it could also transport over light years instead of 40,000 km or so.

Ok, I found the Episode in the Database (must have missed it on TV).
There's nothing about how to stop them, but they say it's a very energy intensive and instable procedure.
In other words, even if you could beam thru an Imperial Vessel's shields unsing this technique, you couldn't beam over a large boarding party or something, only individual persons.

I was thinking more along the lines of some explosives.
The setup would be A Probe giving location of Wars Ship - Trek Ship a few light years away beams a few torps or a heavy expolsive onto the ships.
Then bang - im not saying it would work mainly I just thought it was odd that I hadnt seen it mentioned more like the way every Trek supporter shouts Inter Phase cloak at the top of their lungs.

What sort of Jammers?
Any jamming that will stop them from locking on. And doesn't SW have subspace jammers? (they have subspace stuff, see Mike's site)

Regardless they did so......
I was looking at the site which is what led me to wonder since Subspace scanner were long gone and when speaking about Subspace weapons, subspace technology is referenced as silly as if the Empire had gone past using anything subspace based a long time ago.
On the subject of jamming - I dont recall a blind transport ever being done so if the jammers could block sensors that would work.

According to the site blind transporting is possible but could land you inside a wall so transporting inside a ship wouldnt be possible with out a big risk unless precise layout was known which is unlikely since the level of detail would need to be the same as the death star plans stolen in episode 4.
However transporting into open space within a shield would work and so long range planetary bombardment is possible, im not sure on how much space exists between hull and shield on ships so cant judge effectiveness on that count and the added fact that the targets could move erratically adds more problems .

One thing that doesnt make sense to me is the fact that only subspace barriers could stop a subspace transporter beam since realspace items affect ships that on currently in subspace, if this was not true then torpedoes at warp would also pass though standard shields.
I realise one is energy and the other matter but it still seems odd.

Perhaps it's only possible to beam thru the shields with a subspace transporter if you know the frequency.
I don't know, something with those subspace transporters stinks.
They would probably always keep on using them if they worked perfectly well. Surely they have some flaw which prevents constant use.
Btw, Hyperspace and Subspace seem to be similar, or related effects.
I wouldn't be surprised if Hyperspace jamming equipment also effected subspace related devices.

They Stink because the writers decided to come up with something that went against conventional Star Trek logic (Such as it is).
Im new to the entire Vs thing but it seems odd that I have neevr seen anyone mention this yet I have seen Interphase cloaking or Han Solo said this etc about 100 times already.
Then again at least the Trek writers didnt have a bounty hunter miss a stationary target from 2 feet away - what was Lucas thinking?
