On that matter, wether he would have won won, we'll know in 11 days, what we DO know, is that he conceeded.

Yes, mobilizing 4 million fundies too inbred to vote otherwise is a remarkable accomplishment indeed.

Have a very nice day.

Yes, the will of America's most ignorant citizens has made itself manifestly clear.

I hate to break it to you, but normally a rebuttal to a statement is supposed to actually refute the statement rather than stating a fact that has no bearing on its truth or untruth whatsoever.

Is there something wrong with pointing out that it doesn't matter what type of person turned out for him - matter of fact is that they did?

Interestingly enough some of the states Bush carried in the west actually have pretty soft 'fundie' majorities. With a bit of out-reach and some swallowed pride the Democrates could have switched them.

At least we haven't had a massive fight over the election. That's about the only thing I can think of from this shitty election. South Park nailed it: "It's always a choice between a giant douche and turd sandwich." At least we know who's fucking us over for the next four years.

As for the Democrats, they've got none to blame but themselves. Kerry was a lackluster candidate to say the least and ran exactly the run sort of campaign. He managed to turn out a fair amount of youth votes actually, but it seems he quite simply turned off too many others. Record turn outs and he still lost.

While I don't want to meddle in an other country's politics, I must say I think the American people made the right choice. I don't think that the Bush camp should yell bad looser at Kerry, as he acted with dignity.
Now, isn't it time for a "Congratulate President Bush" thread?

Actually it does matter. Unless you want to be ruled by the fundies, of course.

Those wouldn't be the states that banned gay marriage, would they?

No, no, no (I'm not particulary fond of fundies, which makes my support of Bush look a bit odd). I vote for Moderaterna.

fgalkin - I'm not trying to rub it in, so don't take it that way.

The western states are not monolithic (e.g. Like Oregon that both went for Kerry AND voted to ban gay marriage) . Kerry could have peeled off more than one (CO, AZ ect) and made a direct Bush win impossible. Like it or not the Dems are going to have to reach out to the people you revile and find a spot for them in their party if they are going to win in '08.

I really wish it was that easy but Bush will drag down the rest of the world with him.

But doing that would mean turning their back on the liberal voters in the Northeast.

What the Dems really need is a charismatic leader. if they had an equivalent of Ahnuld, they would have taken the swing states.

Have a very nice day.

On the original topic, it seems the concession speech will start at around 2:00 EST, now, instead of 1:00.

Well, the shrub is firmly planted in the ground for the next four years. Let's find something positive in it. Do you think the propaganda machine can keep all the festering sewage in the pipes for the rest of the administration. Will there be a backlash against the Republicans if his next four years sink even faster and deeper into the muck? Will the Democrats take the chance to grow a spine, or at least a notochord? Also candidates for 2008. My picks are Hillary and Frist.
