What would it take to split up the country?
It's disgraceful that I live under the same government as those who voted for Bush.
Everyone should have seen by now how the electoral map came out. Blue in the northeast and west coast, and red all through the middle.
I wish that the blue regions could bust off of the massive idiot swarm and form separate countries, so that we could all live happily instead of being in a situation where 50% of the population is eternally pissed off.
any possible way for this to go down?

That's an insane and horrible idea. There is no way for that to happen, not the least because such an arrangement would probably lead to a total economic collapse in the USA, triggering a worldwide depression.

Seggybop, no. This is what the entire Civil War was fought over, idiots thinking that the country should split when the losers didn't like the winner's candidate. If that happened after every hotly contested election, we'd be sitting in a lot of little city-states right now.
It's Rogue, not Rouge!

For I dipt into the future, far as human eye could see,
Saw the Vision of the world, and all the wonder that would be;
Saw the heavens fill with commerce, argosies of magic sails,
Pilots of the purple twilight dropping down with costly bales;
Heard the heavens fill with shouting, and there rain'd a ghastly dew
From the nations' airy navies grappling in the central blue;

What if I love the founding principles but hate the current incarnation? I have a strange love-hate relationship with my country right now. So much potential squandered by so many idiots.America: Love it or leave it.
Not that all Bush supporters are idiots, mind. Just enough of them.

The fundies are not going away. If anything, they're going to multiply. I don't want to live in a place that's on the path to becoming an authoritarian theocracy. And yes, I going to be leaving this place. I really can't take it much longer. But I'm pretty pissed off that these morons in the middle of the country where no one ever goes are able to impose their pathetic will upon regions where they have absolutely no support.

"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

From the looks of things, you'll be able to find out in a couple of years.
