International Reaction

So, does anyone know what the reaction to Kerry's concession has been in Canada, Europe and the rest of the world?

We expect the hordes of Hell to soon invade the lands to rape, plunder and pillage.

Actually, the American armed forces have had a great deal of sensitivity training lately, so we will be engaging in far ranging peace keeping operations to aggressively seduce yer wimmin, appropriately redistribute wealth, and deny resources to potential enemy combatants. :D

It's actually funny how you equated "Hell" with "America" despite me having no intention for it meaning that way.

Perhaps a sub-concious reaction to world opinion now, hm?

You'd be amazed at the reactions I'm getting off people. For some, that is a possibility. A vote for Bush is a vote for the Apocalypse. Me and most in my family don't give a shit though. I'd have liked a better result, however.

I believe this is the reaction of the international community:

Dammit. I should've made a bet on how obscene The Guardian's frontpage would be today.

Well if that's the case then, I suppose I can't agrue against that logic.

If I find a Guardian article with that feeling of dread to it, I'll bring it up. Frankly, I feel dirty handling that paper, but my politics society president buys it so I can see how they're reacting.

I expect a Jihad or something.

Other than Blair pretty much everybody in the UK who noticed the US was having an election is gutted, the rest are too busy watching soap operas to have noticed.

Why the extreme aversion to the Guardian, what have they done to upset you so much?

They're a bit pretentious? It's more to do with the fact that I hate extremes and that paper can be the opposite extreme, the Yin to the Yang that is FOX News et al.

OK, maybe not that bad, I did like that last article by one columnist on Bush. For the most part, it's not my cup-o-tea.

It's the Independent; it has to be sarcasm. Believe me, while they're not particularly party-aligned they can definately be classed as the 'liberal' paper.

And judging from the headlines (BBC News has em up) the Guardian seems... vaguely depressed if anything ('And Now... Four More Years'/'This is no passing phase, this is now an era'), though I expect they'll have some good old self-rightious vitriol inside on the C&A pages.[/i]

Of course it was sarcasm. I was sarcastically suggesting that it wasn't.

Actually, her current comments are nothing I haven't thought myself. Her previous comments were a wee bit over the top, but I understand the sentiment, and their quoting and length of attention devoted to them in the article seems to be purposely intended to be inflammatory.

Mostly, it's a lot of tsk-tsk head-shaking and eye-rolling at those foolish Americans and their crazy cowboy fundie president.

Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.

Aren't the French trying to get back into America's good graces? Or vice versa? That's something.
