Palpatine in Sith guise, yes - but I suspect we're looking at a nice wee plan to turn Anakin to the darkside and getting rid of Dooku once and for all by pretending to be captured and having his pet dog sic the beardy one.

Because he presumably staged his kidnapping by Separatist forces, which is what the Battle of Coruscant is really all about. The Republic fleet attacks the escaping Separatist forces while Obi-Wan and Anakin go in to rescue the Chancellor from the Seperatist flagship.Mlenk wrote:

Check the MillenniumFalcon.com board, Episode III forum.
Technically it's only about three seconds of footage, while the actual video is five seconds long in total.

What a piece of shit.Pablo Chat wrote:Q: Since there were 1.2 million Clonetroopers basically ready for fighting as of AOTC (judging by Lama Su's comments anyway), has that number increased at all by Episode 3? Is there any mention of Clonetrooper/Stormtrooper numbers in the script or by Lucas himself?
Asshole: Thankfully, no. The military math in these movies tends to be as plausable as the physics.

There are 1.2 million units in AOTC, 'a unit' does not necessarily mean a 'soldier'. I don´t care what any secondary sources say (like the novelization), on a galactic scale the unit = soldier notion is completely rediculous, and, as I´m sure we´ll see in ROTS (and have already seen in SW: CW), completely unrealistic.
Clone armies, clone pilots, clone gunners, sounds like alot of people. Considering it´s been three years of continuous warfare, there can´t be many of these so-called "1.2 million troopers" left. I call bull on anything but the movie in this regard.
Remember, according to the ROTJ novelization, Owen and Obi-Wan were brothers...
And Pablo is a dick, thanks for giving a fresh example.

Meh. That doesn't show much, but I was rather hoping he'd disgard the robes for fighting. Maul did, and with good reason.

Calm down VT. And the novel IIRC tends to support the 1 clone = 1 unit idea. But I'm of the opinion that the 'ready for deployment' is about the completly fully kitted out and trained Clones. And that when Yoda came, he simply ordered up everyone that could fight, which was a FAR greater number. That they may have not as yet gotten super training on some things, but they still made excellent General Infintry.VT-16 wrote:There are 1.2 million units in AOTC, 'a unit' does not necessarily mean a 'soldier'. Essentially, it's the Luke vs. Vader Rematch of ROTS. As I argued in the Vader-Luke relationship thread, the SW saga works in cycles. Both Anakin and Luke went through similar events and choices; this is where it culminates.Vympel wrote:Because he presumably staged his kidnapping by Separatist forces, which is what the Battle of Coruscant is really all about. Luke had the option to strike down Vader and by doing so, join the Dark Side, with Palpatine egging him on. I strongly suspect that a similar running commentary will be given by Palpatine during the Anakin vs. Dooku rematch. Killing Dooku will be the first step of Anakin's final plunge.
(On a side-note, does anyone else find it interesting that Palpatine's chair resembles his throne from ROTJ?)

Thu, Nov 11, 04 09:57:00 AM EST
Yahoo News/Hollywood Reporter features an interview with Jim Ward about Star Wars gaming. Here's an excerpt relating to ROTS:
The Hollywood Reporter: Where are you in developing the "Episode III" game?
Ward: It's going to provide the ultimate Jedi action fantasy fulfillment that we've hinted at in previous games. We brought in Nick Gillard, the stunt coordinator for the film, to work with the game animators and the entire team to ensure that the Jedi action moments are as real and true to the performances in the film.
Hayden Christensen came in and worked with the game development team to show them the style of his light-saber fighting. We've had the team fully integrated into the production of the film from beginning to end.
If you haven't already, be sure to check out the trailer for the 'Revenge of the sith' game at LucasArts, as it contains more spoilers than the teaser trailer. Thanks to Danny and Conor for the alert.

From the latest BtH about the ARC-170 Fighter:
The mighty Incom/Subpro Aggressive ReConnaissance starfighter (ARC-170) has an impressive wingspan of 22.85 meters, is armed with two medium laser cannons, two aft blaster cannons, six proton torpedoes and carries a crew of three plus an astromech droid
Heh, ever since I first read the name, I always thought it was a reference to ARC troopers. Guess I was almost right.
How much was the wingspan of an X-Wing?
EDIT: Nevermind, looks like it´s a little under 12 meters, since that´s the lenght of the craft. And the B-Wing appears to be 16 meters long, so that make the ARC the biggest fighter yet.

A crew of THREE? Fark. PLUS an astromech? I wonder what it means by six proton torpedoes. Six tubes, or six torpedoes? Hopefully six torpedoes. Like the X-Wing.
