Nader Supporters Blame Electoral Defeat On Bush, Kerry

WASHINGTON, DC—Supporters of presidential candidate Ralph Nader blamed his defeat Tuesday on George W. Bush and John Kerry, claiming that the two candidates "ate up" his share of the electoral votes. "This election was stolen out from under Mr. Nader by Bush and Kerry, who diverted his votes to the right and the left," Nader campaign manager Theresa Amato said. "It's an outrage. If Nader were the only candidate, he would be president right now." In his concession speech, Nader characterized Bush and Kerry as spoilers.

It certainly sounds like something he and his supporters have continually been saying. Nader needs to understand that this election year just wasn't his time, not with such a divided country, there's no room for third parties. Maybe in '08 (although even that is unlikely). History has shown that if a third party makes a strong showing, one of the two parties will gobble it up and steal its ideas and platforms.

It's a funny article, but he's still wrong. By voting for Bush, Kerry, or Nader, voters were stealing votes from the American Communist Party, and helping throw the election to Lyndon LaRouche.

Nader would make a grossly ineffective president. Sure, not as bad as Perot would have, but still pretty bad. Because we have two parties controling the legislature, any third party president would have a great deal of trouble creating an agenda because of an utter lack of cooperation in Congress. The other problem would be he'd pretty much have a policy grab-bag when it came to signing bills. Bad mojo all around.
