Best of Classic Rock?
What bands do you consider embody the best of classic rock?
Jimi Hendrix Experience - Jimi Hendrix was a master at guitar
Led Zeppelin - So was Jimmy Page, excellent composer too.
Aerosmith - Catchy songs like "Walk This Way" and "Sweet Emotion".
The Eagles - Melodic Songs
The Who - See above, I like "Baba O'Riley" very much
Black Sabbath - Ozzy. 'Nuff said.
Iron Butterfly - Who doesn't like a band who can have a fifteen minute drum solo?
Steppenwolf - Catchy songs again. "Magic Carpet Ride" and "Born To Be Wild"
Deep Purple - Awesome hard rock, "Smoke On The Water" is a must hear.
I've also begun to listen to Boston. They're a pretty good example of good classic rock.
Feel free to add or dispute this list. These are my opinions.

Frankie Goes to Hollywood? Are you unsane? They weren't even a rock band in the fisrt damned place!
Just because it's more than fifteen years old does NOT mean it qualifies as classic rock!
I mean, fer fuck's sake, THE RAMONES?

HEY! That reminds me. Chardok, I met Steven Tyler a few weeks ago at a medeval festival on Cape Cod. He was really cool. We bullshitted for a few minutes while he gnawed on a turkey leg and waited for his wife.Chardok wrote:three words:

I went through my library and pulled all the names of bands they played on my classic rock station (before it turned into Smooth Jazz ). I know they aren't technically "classic rock" but they are the same era. Sort of. Not really. Dammit.Frank Hipper wrote:The Sex Pistols? Classic rock? What the hell is wrong with you?

That's it.
now that mommy's not around,
She used to love her heroine,
but now she's underground.
So you stay out late at night
and ya do your dance for free,
driving your friends crazy
with you life's insanity.
Axel Rose makes Steven Tyler his bitch any day of the week. Aerosmith's greatest contribution to music was lamenting over Ben Affleck's lost boner.
If you could combine AC/DC, Van Halen and Led Zeppelin, you would have the hardest rocking band that could ever be.

radio's playing some forgotton song, revierie comming on strong
the road has got me hypnotized and I'm staring into a new sunrise.
we've got a name and we call it radar love
we've got a voice up in the air....
low-ride-er
ride a little lower.
the lowrider is a fine flyer
and I think my spaceship knows which way to go
tell my wife I love her
she knows
