Click me

Here's something else I've whipped up. I put just a tad bit more effort into this one than I did the DVD poster. :) I was originally going to have it be the DVD, but I thought it best that it be a novel instead. I don't know if you can make it out with the level of compression I used, but theres some dust particles floating around in the light shining on the book.

For those that don't know what "Timedancer" is, click me.

the "other" side of the book is not illuminated dirctly by your present light source but indirctly by diffuse light reflecting from the other objects. by placing a non shadow casting light on the other side you can simulate this.

you´ll be able to see the pages of the book then which you would probably want to do with a texture and perhaps model one or two pages that are sticking out, like old books tend to have.

chamfer the books edges. no book has edges as sharp as this.

the wood texture of the table seems too large.

i think you need to increase the glossiness of the lamp´s material.
