For those who care and haven't seen these yet. Also for those who want them on their computers but are to lazy to scan them. Here you go.

Soldiers Live. And wonder why.

"It is the soldier, not the reporter, Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the soldier, not the poet,
Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, Who has given us the freedom to
demonstrate.
It is the soldier, Who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag, Who allows the protester to burn the
flag."

If you guys see no difference, you are crazy. The meshes are several times more detailed, as are the textures.

yeah, they are more detailed after squinting a bit... as long as it runs good and is a good game though I really couldn't care how purrty the ships look

I'm just not seeing it. I can't see any significant improvements over the first game, maybe it's the less than stellar textures and the general flat lookingness of the ships.

Imperium Galactica 3 looks set to own Homeworld 2 in the graphical stakes.

Now if only I could figure out how to play the fucking demo.

The texture maps are more detailed, the models are as well, there's the whole "ion cannon cutting ships" effect...

From the screenshots should I assume that HW 2 is going to be an exact remake of HW 1 plotwise but with better graphics?

I don't think so. The only info I've ever heard on HW2's plot was years ago, back when it was on the chopping block. It's supposed to be set long, long after HW1 and Cataclysm. Relic's being airtight about their plot, as usual.
