Can the Democrats get their ass in gear?

Post by Stormbringer »

This might be a tiny bit premature but it seems to me that the Democrats have been increasingly beaten. I don't just mean losing, I mean just plain giving up and becoming GOP bitch-boys. Instead of fighting or trying to wake people up, fire people up, or just get their side out they've resorted to whining about the stolen election once again. And that's lead to some truly moronic theories being bandied about. It's all just fucking cry baby shit; utterly worthless for anything but a gutless weiner circle jerk.

It seems to me that since Gore's election the Democrats haven't put up the fight they should. The Republicans lost two elections to Clinton but they fought tooth and nail; they pushed their agenda as hard as they could. And it worked as they made themselves felt for all of Clinton's presidency. Why can't, why haven't the Democrats tried the same thing? And if they can, when will they?

The last election really is a prime example. The Democrats in general just let the Republicans set the tone in all the races, they spent the two years of the campaign dancing to the Bush tune. Only Bush's utter corruption and incompetence keep it in shouting distance, his father would have had a landslide. Dean was the only one with a genuine fire, and Clark and Edwards the only ones with a good shot at winning. So what do they do? Pick Kerry. The safe and stupid choice.

Much as I might dispise much of Clinton's policies, he was savvy as hell and held his own. Why can't the Democrats take the obvious lesson that a driven, moderate canidate is what people are looking for? How long is it going to be before we see a Democratic Revolution? The midterms in '06? The election of '08? Never?

Sorry for the rant, but after looking back at the whole run of the election I can't help but despair at the Democats. I truly wanted to have a Democrat worth voting for, I really did. Too bad Kerry turned out to be such a sorry disappointment.
