Two chears and a moment of Silence
The Forces of Idoicy lost two great Battles and one one day(Thus the title)
Coleman Beat out Mondal in Minnesota, Mondale the man who wanted to RASE TAXS in 1988 to quote him We will tax thier asses off if I'm elected
The same man who helped Carter during that wonderful time in our Economey....
In Missouri our friend Jim Talent beat out Jean Carnahan by a slim margin, Jean as its been noted before was nothing but a mouthpieace for former(HA BEST PART! FORMER!) Senate Leader Tom Daschle and durng Debates with Talen Jean appered "Quote Drunk and Disorginzed, She Rambled and at times made less sense then my 3 year old daugher" to quote one reporter, Her answears in the three debates appeared scripted but badly so and seem to have been the crucial factor that got Talen the Narrow 51-48% Win over Jean Carnahan
And in our third race saddly, Lautenberg beat Forrestor as I noted previously this fellow(Lautenberg) has refused to Debate his oppente and got on the ballet completly through the Democratic controled Supreme Court ignoring the Law and Legislating from the Bench because apprently there is an unwritten part of the constituion that says "If a Democrate Canadit is caught accepting Bribes its ok to switch him out whenever you want with a better guy"
Bah well 2 our of 3 an't bad, And Lautenberg is not long for this mortal world anyway

Agreed on Lautenberg. We're rid of Toricelli, but that's not much of a consolation.
Any city gets what it admires, will pay for, and, ultimately, deserves…We want and deserve tin-can architecture in a tinhorn culture. They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Republicans will just nod their heads with whatever Bush has to say, since Bush is their puppet.
We need an evenly balanced congress exactly 1:1 ratio of democrats and republicans, and or an equal amount of independents. This is so the politicians can't do anything.

Is it just my apolitical viewpoint, or has anyone else noticed that when someone ever complains about Bush being put into office, they never mention that we would have otherwise been stuck with Al Gore?
Jesus Q. Christ with a strap-on, we'd still be in recession with monthly terrorist attacks with that wooden freak in office. What else would you expect from a guy who put an illegal gag order on that university course he taught back in 2000?

That dumb-fuckwit is the same person who introduced(A Defeated) Bill into the Senate that would make it illeagle to expose Kids to Porn on the internet(Despite the fact hat 70% of Porn is not based in the USA) and he wanted to charge a $100 Fine for each picture seen per kid or some other bullshit
That on top of him being a Young Earth Creationist
Plus his publicly stated goal of re-righting the constiution(He never says how and he cut it out after 92 when the Democrats told him to shut up)
I could go on but I won't, pisses me off just thinking about all the shit on this guy

I'm sure a lot of people will be issuing cheers and loud prayers that the average american voter is sufficiently brainwashed to give even more power to a party that's ideologically opposed to clean drinking water, equality, women's rights, freedom of religion, and individual freedom in general. As far as most of the rest of the world is concerned, however, you've become something between a laughing stock and a country full of right wing extremeists.
A pox on your population for tolerating these morons--in your entire political system; not just the Republicans--rather than establishing a democracy that actually works. Having to choose between two parties full of greedy careerist 'representatives' is no choice at all.
Edit: just clarified my point a little.

I personally detest the Republicans for the reasons that Enlightenment has listed(and more). The fact that there are more racist bastards and fundies in the GOP than the Dems should be enough of an alarm for people. Does this mean I support only Democrats? Nope. I support whoever I believe is better(or not as bad).

The United States is the one of the only countries in the world taking a stand against terrorism. The Republican party is the best party that we can choose that will prosecute the war the way it should be done. If you don't like the US then don't come here. Incidentally, what are you referring to specifically with the "rest of the world"? There are a lot of other countries that have theocracies for political systems. There are countries that don't support womens' rights, etc... Those countries are usually run by Islamic regimes. In case you haven't been paying attention, the US overturned the Taliban which operated exactly in the same manner of your criticism of the US.
So, in closing, go to hell.

Exactly what does any of that have to do with the shoddy state of US democracy? Nothing?Commander LeoRo wrote: The United States is the one of the only countries in the world taking a stand against terrorism. It's a rather odd definition of 'works' that includes a chronic lack of voter participation caused by the fact that none of the available candidates reflect the interests and views of the public.MKSheppard wrote:The system actually FUCKING WORKS......
The fact that Canada's democratic process is severely broken is not relevant to the status of the American polity.unlike your fucked up Parliaments, or KKKanada, where you don't even actually ELECT your leader.....

Bush and Albert Gore in 2000, rather than letting the GOP and Democratic
party leaders decide who would be president in closed door affairs...

An 'election' where the winner loses the popular vote by such a huge margin (millions, wasn't it?) and still winds up in office isn't an 'election' worthy of the name.MKSheppard wrote:You're just mad that we actually had a choice and voted between George W Bush and Albert Gore in 2000, rather than letting the GOP and Democratic party leaders decide who would be president in closed door affairs...
And last I checked the outcome was decided, behind closed doors, by the USSC....
