Maybe, maybe not. If the nationwide popular vote was the only thing we looked at, then we could be objective about it and not even worry about Rep states and Dem states. But you know damn well the networks would still look at the state-level voting numbers just so they could stir up shit. American media + negativity = a match made in heaven.
Ironically, if this was the way we did things, we'd have been wondering whether or not to re-elect President Gore.
