That is true to some degree, but like tharkûn said, that is her only aspect. Other than that, there is nothing but ~socialist liberalism. Bush at least has SOMETHING that everyone can find that they admire. Hilary is a snake in a human suit.

Plenty of people here. Judging by the fact that nearly two thirds of polled respondents still think Saddam Hussein helped carry out or plan 9/11, it's pretty obvious that we are not a representative group, and that even the Bush supporters here are far more well-informed and politically aware than the general population.

No. I wasn't inspired at all by her campaign or her positions. Chuck Schumer, while being just to the right of Friedrich Engels, has a list of accomplishments for New York longer than Gotti's rap sheet. She, on ther hand...well I haven't seen her in the headlines proposing any kind of legislation or initiative to benefit her constituents.
Her opposition, Rick Lazio, was a political lightweight and otherwise unknown assemblyman from the Island and he still managed to poll in the 40's in a state that 5:3 Democratic.
As for her capability as a presendential candidate, sure she has the ambition, and she is the last rock star of the looney left still in office, so she should have deep pockets as well. However, her appearance on a ballot would remove any need to "get out" the Republican base.

Again we are looking at a matter of degrees. Hillary has been more of a weasle than Bush, at the very least Bush actually made his first electoral bid against an incumbent in the house rather than being gifted with a safe seat in the senate from on high.
Bush stands for something, even if it is nothing more than tax cuts, American unilateralism, and Judeo-Christian morality; what again does Hillarly stand for?
Even if it is just a matter of "one of our own", tribe W beats the crap out of tribe Hillary at the polls. The number of who would be willing to give Hillarly a free pass is much, much lower than the number who would do the same for GWB.
Maybe the electorate is filled with idiots, but the Democratic party has to be free basing if they think putting her on the ticket isn't seppuku.
Its highly unlikely that Hillary would get the Dem's nomination as she has very little actual experience as a politician. Not to mention the fact that this country is no where near ready to even consider electing a female president.
And as its already been mentioned, she is too far left to be viable.
All in all, I really don't see her running in 2008.
Latest rumor I've heard is to watch for Ed Rendel (Govenor of Pennsylvania) for the Democrats and maybe his predecessor Tom Ridge as a possible Republican candidate.
