EU fighters in AOTC (just for fun...)
Like it says in the title, this is just some fun speculation on my part.
Most of us know about the easter egg put into the speeder chase in AOTC (The X-Wing being chased by Vader´s TIE and two escort TIEs), but what if we were to take this seriously, and let them be part of the movie-canon? And not necessarily as X-Wings and TIE fighters from the OT (as these are not meant to come out yet.)
I´m thinking more along the line of one Z-95 Headhunter and three Republic TIEs patrolling the area (since the Z-95 looks almost identical to the X-Wing when seen from above).
Am I on to something or is this useless, since the team responsible for the effects have already said what it is?

I have not seen what you refer to. Everytime I see that scene, the sfx guys insist that if you look (vaguely at some point in a great sea of airborne objects) you'll find an x-wing and three TIEs. I look, can't find them, then decide to watch the rest of the fucking movie.VT-16 wrote:Most of us know about the easter egg put into the speeder chase in AOTC (The X-Wing being chased by Vader´s TIE and two escort TIEs),

It would make T.I.E. fighters and Z-95s canon in approximately the correct time period for them. Which makes no difference that I'm aware of.VT-16 wrote:Am I on to something or is this useless, since the team responsible for the effects have already said what it is?
The only problem was ILM defined what they were, even if it was just a joke. So, if we want to use this as a part of canon and not as an inside-joke, we have two choices:
Place the early development/testing of TIEs and X-Wings further back in time, or claim they are one Z-95 and three Republic TIEs (or T.I.E.s) (which matches established information).

As far as I can tell, there is no fucking shoe in RotJ. If there is, then it's not actually on screen at any time.
My guess would be that the account got corrupted from the one about the shoe in the Hoth Asteroid Field in ESB, which definately IS there, as I've seen it several times and know exactly where to look for it.
Shoe in ESB: yes. Shoe in RotJ: doesn't exist or isn't actually visable.

The asteroid escape. Check out http: //www.geocities.com/Area51/Lair/5100/shoe.html . There's also a potato, and you can see a TIE pilot flung from his exploding ship.Nieztchean Uber-Amoeba wrote:Shoe in ESB? Which scene?

TFN had a pic of it on the Ep. II easter egg page for years, but now I can´t find it. Great, TFN, one of the few times you could actually be useful and your page is down. -___-
Still searching, though, I thought I saw it just a few days ago.
Found a pic:

In the red circle, a T shaped craft (seen from above) and three TIEs.
