There are so many flaws with that survey, I can't even begin to point them out.

I was somewhat surprised at the amount of Kerry voting countries. I think you could most certainly be right...

It's a massive case of voter response bias.

I'll tell you what makes me instantly doubt it. The Vatican went to Kerry? Erm...

Oh, and the other thing:
United States John Kerry by 51% 17507 53899 24 % 75 %
I'm sorry, but the real election kind of shows this to be wildly wrong.

Don't forget the deadlocked Iraqi vote.

Did you people look at the vote tallies? There's your response.

However, if the whole world could have voted, Kerry would have won. In Europe alone, only Poland would have voted for him, and in all but two others Kerry's victory would have been by double digit figures, often large double digit figures. There was an actual internationally respectable study about this a while back.

I don't know about the rest of the world, but I suspect Bush is very popular there either.

The beef is his political ideology. I work at a monastery. Some of the more conservative fathers were rumbling of excommunication, but no one ever listens to them on things like that. However, nobody but nobody living in that abbey was voting Kerry, not with his position on abortion. That reigns supreme with the Catholic vote, outweighing nearly everything else.

So...how many electoral votes does England get, compared to Russia? Does Sealand get 3?

Take care not to speak for the entire RCC. I know all of the parishes in my area were heavily Kerry because of the war.

The PRC could march a billion voters at gunpoint into the polling stations and elect a Communist.

And be countered by the fact there are still 5 billion voters, who would not vote communist for the most part. Seriously the threat of that happening would cause most of us to scrounge up a compromise canidate that we could all agree on.

Most of us?

India? Africa? The Arabs? World democracy is quite pointless untill the world is democratic and reasonable evenly developed IMO.

The Arabs would vote... For an Arab. India would run with us rather than have a Communist Chinese in charge.

Kidding aside you're right, no one is really taking it seriously.

I'd be willing to let them vote for our President, and even influence the election, if in exchange he gets a throne in the UN and a permanent veto in each committee.

All hail the United States of Earth!
If Religion and Politics were characters on a soap opera, Religion would be the one that goes insane with jealousy over Politics' intimate relationship with Reality, and secretly murder Politics in the night, skin the corpse, and run around its apartment wearing the skin like a cape shouting "My votes now! All votes for me! Wheeee!" -- Lagmonster

I don't think this is accurate when you have the United States voting for Kerry by 75%.
