Off topic question, how do you get the different colors in your signature? Are you using HTML tags?

The song with the greatest meaning for myself is one word long and is played a million times a year...Taps.

Those tones on the bugle just...I can't quite place it, they somehow can just connect you to all the shit that others have gone through and that you now endure for others. I think for any servicemember if they stop and reflect on Taps, actually reflect, they will realize just how much it can and does mean.

Second to that I'd place Amazing Grace in one of two forms, either 1) On bagpipes or 2) The Alleluia chorus version.

Just to be slightly off-topic I disagree with it being a requirement to enter the country though I support proficiency as a requirement for citizenship.

IMO, the greatest song ever written was "American Pie," by Don Maclean. I used to teach it to my English students, and it was always one of the best classes of the year.

"Out of the Blue" by Foreigner. It isn't a great song; actually, it's pretty damned generic 80's stuff. But it happened to be on the only tape (yes, cassette tape) we had with us when Rebecca and I went to Niagara Falls.

I can still remember the old car, with the song playing and the snow outside. I still remember the drawbridge that we had to wait for, and if I hear that song and close my eyes, I can still see Rebecca, the way she looked that night.

Rebecca is a lucky woman. I hope to end up with someone who has such memories of me. Seriously, that is lovely. I couldn't let this thread go to sleep without saying that, romantic that I am. And having Foreigner playing in the background--ahh, just like a movie. A fabulous, girlie, romantic chick movie. Que bella. :)

I actually got sick reading that post. Yes, yes, Rebecca is a lucky women because Mike is such a romantic, but I am a bastard so......that would never happen. My idea of being romantic is a date at the Food Court in Target. Oh well.....

:D I think I'm a banana tree...

"The Show Must Go On" and "Innuendo" were great ones from that album too.

I'd have to put "Sunday Bloody Sunday" on the list also (I know it's not Queen, it's U2) just because it doesn't blame anyone for the violence, it just despises the violence for what it is.

Another one for me is Drops of Jupiter by Train. Every time I hear that song I can't think of anyone else but Douglas Adams, and it really chills me out.
