Could we have some screenshots of the craters in Bespin's walls (from both Boba and the Stormies?)

Look in my Star Wars evidence directory. I think they're in there. Let me look.

But here's one of the turbolift door in the detention block being blasted, if anyone needs that.

How did they blow up the door like that and not kill the officer inside it? It has been a long time since I watched the movie, but I believe there was an Imperial officer (grey suit guys) in that turbolift was there not?Rogue 9 wrote:But here's one of the turbolift door in the detention block being blasted, if anyone needs that.

I don't recall that ...

Holy shit Han shoots a wall and the shrapnel from the wall sprays and kills two stormtroopers, one behind cover?Rogue 9 wrote:And some "Han's Blaster vs. Concrete in Docking Bay 94" shots.
Now if Han could only have aimed a little better, the shrapnel could have gotten all four of the troopers

Just been on that site and had a look around, just out of curiosity didn't the imperial officer say "sir we have lost Brigde deflectorshilds" after Both globes went boom on the Executor?

Yeah, because the A-wings were pounding on the globes when the shield went down. If you watch carefully, the first A-wing torpedoes disappear when they hit the globe, THEN some get through and blow it up. The only reasonable explanation is, the A-wings were making a run on the globes when the entire fleet pounding on the Executer took down the shields, and their missles took out the globe.Aquatain wrote:Just been on that site and had a look around, just out of curiosity didn't the imperial officer say "sir we have lost Brigde deflectorshilds" after Both globes went boom on the Executor?

You don't? Clearly you need to review A New Hope again, then. If it wasn't for the fact that the Trekkies dispute that blasters were used on the door, that'd be even better for your point.Vympel wrote:I don't recall that ...

The reason i asked is that i have always myself belived that the domes where infact the shieldprojectors making a localized "extra shield" around the bridge",and that the officer was talking about the extra shield not the shield for the entire ship,to my logic he would just say "sir all shields are down(or something like that)" if that was the case.(hell i'm new here).

So... officer or no officer?Rogue 9 wrote:You don't? Clearly you need to review A New Hope again, then.
Even if there was one, I'm sure it would be easy for the officer to hide behind the stormies in the elevator... although a stray piece of shrapnel would be pretty painful.
Why weren't the stormies in the elevator hurt by the explosion? Han's blaster shooting the concrete wall created enough shrapnel to disable stormtroopers, but stormtroopers shooting their own blasters at a metal wall doesn't create enough shrapnel to kill at point blank range? Maybe the materials are used in starship construction so that shrapnel doesn't burst from every shot. This makes sense given that we see stormies shoot at Han and never see shrapnel like the scene in the picture. The blaster shots of the stormies hit the ramp of the Falcon, and the ramp didn't burst into dangerous shrapnel shards.

But i also just realized something..it dosen't matter if the shield was up or down since Shields dosen't stop solid matter, i mean in The empire strikes back Theres a Destroyer that gets it's Conning tower smashed by a asteroide right?.

No, several Star Destroyers have their shields absorb multigigaton asteroid impacts.Aquatain wrote:You are right only one Dome is knocked out..damn me and my falty memory.Aquatain wrote:

In that scene, the destroyer had already been in the asteroid field for two days (imagine how many hits it must have taken), and was also transmitting to Vader's flagship (we know some forms of communications require for them to drop the shields to transmit), so in all likelyhood they had either dropped the shields for long range transmission, or the shields had been downed from repeated asteroid impacts.
Also, the scene changed before the blast had faded and the captain was still talking to Vader after the asteroid hit (you see him raise his arm and a flash, but he's still standing there squinting and the display fizzles out slowly, so he definitely survived).

Oh, it is. It seems to be some sort of a capital ship torpedo. An identical weapon can be observed in an earlier scene in the film, but since the shield interaction in this shot is so obvious it's a good example to bring up.Aquatain wrote:He i always thought that blue comet thing was some sort of weapon.(ion cannon maybe)
