If you're talking about making a scientific hypothesis I suppose you have a point. Otherwise it's just semantics and opinion. The latter is a psychological value judgement.

I don't see what the problem with the colours is.

In the Star Wars universe, everything seems to be black and white. This is space fantasy. The good guys are usually good, and the bad guys are usually bad. The exception being Jar Jar who is too stupid to know who is good or bad. So an out-of-universe answer is that the good guys should seem "good" to every degree, even in blaster colours.

In-universe... The Republic's colours. The Republic wants to distinguish their blaster shots from the enemy. Etc, etc.

Although a cool tactical idea would be to order all your ships to change blaster colour to the enemy's colours, perhaps fooling the "tracers" and combat sens Pretty sure that won't happen though.

As an aside, anyone notice that there's a "explosion before tracer hit" effect in the trailer (right after Psycho-Sidious swings his sabre, run it frame by frame on QT using the -> and -< keys.

After reviewing that a couple of times, it looks like the shot cuts in mid explosion, so presumably a first blast has already hit and the tracer shown is a subsequent blast.

What are you talking about? The problem here is that the colours change around between and within factions (practically without rhyme or reason). Not that they exist at all.
