By the way in that movieclip ..does that x-wing shots penetrate the shields..i can see the first and second shot hitting the shield ..but the third shot seem to cause a rather big explosion.

BTW guys I could use a tad bit of help on the blaster subject, simply because I haven't done geometry in ages and aren't qualified to discuss the angle of the blaster bolt in 3 dimensions. If someone can smack him down on that, I'd be much oblidged.

He's getting annoying, cutting out my key points in his replies, though.

No. Star Wars shields don't work like Trek shields, making a big flash around the shield perimeter. Instead, the weapons explode on the edge of the INVISIBLE shield.

Remember all those explosions around the Falcon, or those explosions around Obi-wans fighter? Those are blasts hitting the shields.

You'll see in Star Wars, a weapon will hit, make a big explosion, but to tell if the shields were up or not all you have to do is look and see if it took damage. If it didn't, the shot exploded against the shield instead of the hull.

Yeah, it does. The bomb, however, is clearly stopped by the shield which protects the dome.

By the way is there any reasble explanation to why the Executor takes a dive into the Deat star, i know it lost her bridge and conning tower but hey there should be secondary bridges and then again alternative ways to control the ship, i have sailed in the danish navy for nine years and we had at least five different ways we could control our ship.

Yeah, it happened too fast for someone to get to the secondary bridge before impact.

They are in a combat situation..would't the secondary bridge be manned already?

Sure, but that doesn't let them take control of the entire ship within seconds of the loss of the primary bridge.

Silly and the article are so short that it looks like this guy put no effort at all into the site. Mostly just repeats the same only retoric. He blows off the Death Star like a dog would a flea.

The no lasers things is just dumb considering the situation in which the line was used. Thos ships look not much bigger than a runabout and we much less powerful it seems as a federation shuttle.

On the other hand seeing how poorly this guy can parrot someone else argument, his cannon page, just makes it even more of a joke. Trekkies like this make me embaressed to e a Star Stek fan. Anyway the company says X and creator says Y but is vague about it so it is not really clear(a parrellel universe will have the same capibilities so argument is moot).

I officially declare this not worth my time. Anyone claiming to be Isolder74 is NOT me.

I've always found the lasers thing shockingly stupid. Even if we ignore the no-limits fallacy, and even if we ignore the fact that the context was the Enterprise being threatened by a primitive shuttle from a nearby world that didn't have phaser technology, there's also the fact that the episode right after had the Enterprise moving back to avoid high intensity laser fire to avoid putting the ship in danger...and Q-Who had the Borg cutting a section of the Enterprise's hull out WITH A LASER BEAM.

Do these people even watch Trek, or just repeat a rhetoric?

The mindset is similar to those who believe the Bible is literally true, contradictions and all. There is no arguing against that sort of brick-wall mentality.

Its just like this:

An M-16 is a gun.

An Iowa-class ship will not even be dinged by M-16.

since M-16 is a gun all guns can't ding a Iowa

A 16 in gun can't harm an Iowa

Does that make any sense?

Well, apart from the secondary bridge issue, the novelisation states that the Executer was "having trouble with its guidance system", which could explain why it crashed into the DS once the bridge wasn't around to keep control over the ship.
"The bird let out a slow chicken cackle. It sounded like a chicken, but in her heart she knew it wasn't. In that instant, she completely understood the concept of a chicken that was not a chicken. This looked like a chicken, like most of the Mud People's chickens. But this was no chicken.

The Executer must be the Unluckiest ship ever the entire chain of events leading up to it's demise is incredible.

I mean here we have a ship that is probally capable of wiping out the entire attacking force of rebels by itself, it should be able to withstand extencive bombardments from the rebels and still be able to return deadly fire...but then ..smacko A-wing kamikaze-loss of control-secondary bridge failure-inpact with space station..

That ship was cursed i say ..they should have gotten rid of their "jona".

Here's some fancy filters to clear up the Leia shot deal.

Even if you account for the glow instead of being burned, note the angle of the glow, clearly angled towards the back end of her arm as the source, definate glancing hit. Also the spark pattern is similar to other hits on that bunker and armoured hits. Though it seems it does burn her arm or her suit in a pulse of sparks after, possibly indicating transfer from one material to another.

Looking at Star Trek.com....I guess I would have had to expect that. And his appereance was expectable in the sense that he doesnt have any meaningfull place left where to spout his bullshit anymore, he desperately needs such a place.

I've used a similar analigy, using rocks. If i throw a pebble at you it'll not hurt you, does that mean if i dropped a boulder on you you'd be unaffected.

Wow, and one thinks it just couldn't sink any worse.

And I rather like the biggest topic...deal with it...LMAO.

Yeah, and we wonder why most of the good Trek fans have decided to bow out of the debate and what left are the rabid retards.

That's the biggest pile of shit I've seen in a long time!

Obviously, this guy is a acolyte of Darkstar, with his master knowing of his apprentice's work, because he is walking around in his board. BTW he made several ST links, but only one SW link(this site). But I can image why he not wanted to link Saxton's site......
