What the effects would be...

Some friends of mine and I rewatched Episode 1 and 2 and played through several of the games (Namely both Starfighter ones) and we started to wonder about an alternate universe.

Since in Episode II, you see that the Trade Federation ships can seperate and such as well as the fact that the Droid Control Ship has a slave circuit with the rest of the fleet. If when it was destroyed in Episode I, it seperated and activated the slave circuit, but was still breaking apart, but ended up dragging the fleet to crash into Naboo.

Now first off, would that be enough to wipe out all life on the planet if the entire Trade Federation fleet impacted, one directly on the palace in Theed.

Secondly, we thought about Anakin deciding not to become a Jedi with everything, he was already told he couldn't for one, and for another he ended up trusting what force sense he did have and decided to stick with the others who escaped (Namely the main characters from Episode I Starfighter) and basically was raised by them and the Lok Revenants.

How big of an effect would this have on the galaxy?

One thing that we did come up with was that Palpatine would lose power as Naboo would no longer have a senate, but that was about it.

I'm considering writing a fanfic based around this AU event.

If I recall, the Droid Control Ship's slave circuit extended only to the droid army on the surface, not over the rest of the fleet.

Not to mention that the rest of the fleet was gone before the Battle of Naboo started.

Even if one TF Battleship were to crash onto Naboo, it would surely cause if nothing else short term devastation. I don't seem to recall Naboo having a planetary defence shield, so there wouldn't be anything to stop the crash anyway. Palpatine's power may wane as a result, or it may actually increase as he gets the 'sympathy' votes.

In any case, it sounds like an intriguing AR fanfic idea.

My thoughts currently do end up with Anakin ending up with Force training, but not Jedi/Sith training, but bits and pieces from practically every other group of force users out there.
