Maybe people are confusing the "Star Wars Vs. Star Trek Debaters Community" on the internet with Star Trek & Star Wars fans in general? Because I imagine the Vs. debaters community is much smaller, and it might be possible to get an accurate sampling and somehow prove that one side is more "stupid" or "insane" somehow. In my discussions I've always been talking about the fans in general, not Vs. Debators. Else I wouldn't have used the examples I did from the SW side, which, you'll note, have nothing to do with Vs. debates (though the Triumph skit did feature and actor in a Spock costume flipping the bird to the SW fans for effect!).
