Moi aussi...I think Wong decided to try that old Radio Shack 2.4mhz TRS-80 Model 100 portable computer that Ming was talking about  . Either that or someone released mynocks in Canada. Either way it's bloody irritating.

Maybe the webhost is letting me down. Perhaps I shouldn't have expected any better for $10/month. Does anyone have any suggestions for a better one?

Maybe it's just that this board is to big, what with all those posts from July and August still on, maybe if they were all deleted, it would work better? IE no extra bandwidth, etc... used.

I think we should move onto a bigger server, or sell a BBS menber into slavery if they will give us a higher-bandwith server for free. I'll volunteer.

Same thing here. However, when I do ping www.stardestroyer.net, the speed is OK. Hell, it comes out as faster than SB.com but the actual speed is slower here.

I think that's because the board and the website are on different servers, but I could be wrong.

Shit, I'm getting tired of this. I'm going off for a while and download episodes of Kodomo no Omocha.

Perhaps you could try Kerkhof's service. I don't know if his pricing scheme but it couldn't hurt to ask.

Plus, if he could accomodate the board, it would keep it within the community and eliminate the worry of fending off ridiculous complaints from irate cowardly creationists.

I keep getting "Cannot find server" messages while moving around on the board, often several times in a row.

Is anyone else having the same problem I am?

pinging bbs.stardestroyer.net is coming up ok. Might be a line problem somewhere. There are quite a few of us online at the same time.

Hitting refresh once or more often twice seems to work.

Yes, that does seem to be the case.

Oh good - I thought it was just me.
data_link has resigned from the board after proving himself to be a relentless strawman-using asshole in this thread and being too much of a pussy to deal with the inevitable flames. Buh-bye.

I'm getting a LOT of "Cannot Find Server" notices and earlier today nearly every step I took was "Page Cannot be Displayed". Now I can only maneuver from page to page by alternating between the "next" button or the page numbers. Arrrggh!

Perhaps it would be good to go back into the depths of the earliest posts (some of these available archives go back 10 pages) and save them to CD and have them handy if needed, while deleting them on the server...

Or...

[paranoia]Are some of those hosers at CreationWeb hiring hackers!?[/paranoia]

Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

Doubt it's hackers. This doesn't feel right for them. Most hack jobs will just crash a site or add gibberish pages (and the links still have the right names, so it's probably not gibberish pages). I could always get in touch with a couple slicers I know and have them check it out...

(BTW, I know the hack thing was meant to be funny, I'm just going along with it :D . I don't even know if my friend's still hacking or if he finally decided to grow up and try programming instead.)
