OT, as the yub-yub song is not offensive to my eyes, and we don't get the fairy tale ending of the SE/DVD version. Yeah, Coruscant, Bespin, Tattooine and Naboo are all going to be celebrating with hundreds of thousands-strong demonstrations a couple minutes after hearing about the destruction of the SECRET Death Star 2. Right. Sure.

The Imps wouldn't really want to advertise their defeat, and the Rebel's don't really have the means to do so. So how did word spread so quickly, again?

The only thing I know for sure about Star Wars, even if it means I've got to side with furry midgets, is the less CGI, the better.

I actually prefer the "Yub-yub" song, though the visuals in the SE are worth it.

In my opinion, it only appears that those celebrations are happening all at the same time. In reality, they're happening at somewhat later times, but are edited together for thematic purposes. Basically, they're flash-forwards, which are rarely used in cinema.

I prefer the 2004 DVD version, but will admit a nostalgia for the original theatrical version.

So, I guess the celebration was over the death of the Emperor more than the destruction of the DSII?

I mean, it's hard to get worked up over the notification that a threat you had never known existed had already been eliminated. Like, if Japanese secret operatives destroyed Los Alamos in 1944, would there be dancing in the streets of Hiroshima? Well, Tokyo was still being or soon going to be firebombed... Or, if the doctor says, "The good news is, I successfully removed your tumor. The bad news is, you had a tumor." It's not a tension-release kind of thing.

This of course raises the question of the succession of power within the Empire. Why was the first of Palpy's clones not immediately released to retain continuity of leadership? Oh well...

They explained it in Dark Empire.

He didn't expect the death at all, in fact this death was so particularly bad, it took him a number of years to properly return to Byss.

I liked the ewok part song, it was great, of course, I loved the Ewoks to begin with, of course I watched the two Ewok movies first anyway.

Ah. Though of all the deaths that happen, I suppose even Palpy's 'bad' death was not so bad as most.

Probably not...but barring the permanent one in Empire's End...this one actually worried him.

Given he's one of the few to actual preform a soul transfer without outside assistance, no one really can say why it was so bad beyond it was unexpected and that was the likely factor.

Considering that I've actually never seen the orginal version of ROTJ, I'd say that my favorite was the DVD. I do feel that the CGI for Coruscant needs to be redone as the textures are still horrible.

I do own the Ewok song on CD, however. And I also own the unreleased version which was performed by a choir.

I prefer the SE, haven't seen the DVD version yet. The 'yub yub' song just irked me. I despised the ewoks and revel in the notion of their eventual demise as the remnants of the DSII scorch their little moon.

2004 DVD. Good to see two PT planets getting resolution (along with Kashyyyk in the 2007-set, I reckon ;)), and the overall epic feel. It doesn´t hurt that the space battle led nicely into such a grand exit.

I just hopw Lucas doesn't go crazy with the '07 RotJ celebration. Maybe add Kashyyk, but please George, not all 12 planets from RotS!!

I thought all the endings were in general cheesy. I hated the yub yub song since it didn't really have that.......well..... beat and lastability to me. I also despised that flute music with SE. Come on, if a bunch of teddy bears which are reminensient of cavemen win a war, they ain't pulling out that flute, they're going for the drums. So I think george should come up with something better if he ever decides to make the SE2 or something.

That's like the most subjective complaint I've ever heard. Hell, I can't really even tell what it is you exactly have a problem with. Flutes? Drums? Cavemen? What do you mean, and what do you want Lucas to "improve" besides empty bitching?
