Blade II
i just saw blade II. it was one of the crapiest movies i´ve ever seen. blade I was ok, it had it´s stupid parts but a good b movie.
then came blade II. what a load of bullshit. zombie ueber vampyres because of geneticial manipulation of the vampyre virus...
another thing: there was one illogical event after the other. after finding out thet the zombies arent affected by garlic and silver bullets but only by uv light. they go down into the sewers to take out these zombies. of course they dont take any big ass uv lamps like they had before, no they use these shitty uv grenades. they have a 10 second delay which doesnt improve the situation at all. you´d think that this high tech weapon could ad least have an adjustable timer...
the uv rays of the grenades travel slower than light (a vampyre ducks as it sees the rays aproaching) and it can "flow" around corners as well.
what pice of crap movie!!!

Re: Blade II
I haven't seen it yet, but by what you describe here it seems like these 'UV grenades' are more like smoke grenades which produce a UV-emitting gas. Potentially very effective against vampires, since they could inhale it. you know, i can accept stuff like slow light and the fact that this medi vampyr can tell from the smell of the spit of the zombie of what it consists. can be put down to (new tech, uberpowers blahblah) but god damn it, they know that these zobies die if you uv light them, they have these lights in massive amounts. and they dont USE them. and stuff like this happens and annoys the all over the movie! i mean why did they even introduce the lamps if they arent going to use them after the first big fighting scene?spongyblue wrote:They were more like flash bangs which produced the light. Sometimes you just have to throw some of the logic and just watch the movie. I enjoyed it.
@Xalev: no! they were not smoke uv grenades. the rays DID flow around the corner.
Uh the Blood Pack are vampires. I doubt they want to go around lugging huge UV lamps with them. But yeah, they could have just went in the armor of the fight in Blade's base.salm wrote:you know, i can accept stuff like slow light and the fact that this medi vampyr can tell from the smell of the spit of the zombie of what it consists. can be put down to (new tech, uberpowers blahblah) but god damn it, they know that these zobies die if you uv light them, they have these lights in massive amounts. and they dont USE them. and stuff like this happens and annoys the all over the movie! i mean why did they even introduce the lamps if they arent going to use them after the first big fighting scene?spongyblue wrote:They were more like flash bangs which produced the light. the blood pack was able to handle the uv lights in their first fight in the disco. if the makers of the movie would have been halfways smart they would have said that they can only be killed by real sunlight.neoolong wrote:Uh the Blood Pack are vampires. Clans and the who what now?Kelly Antilles wrote:*shrug* I found II to be much more... "comic book-ish". It was enjoyable. I watched it to see Danny John-Jules. He's sucha good actor. It was interesting how I could tell all the clans in the vampires of the Blood pack. They did stereotype them a bit, but it worked.
I didn't really like the plots of either, but the costuming, effects, and action sequences in both were top notch, with good soundtracks and a shiveringly cool 'this man is sooo kickass' portrayal of Blade.

Really? The Blood Pack represented clans? I thought they were all pulled from Damaskinos's organization. I thought it would have been cool if all the clans contributed members since Blade was a threat to all. But I didn't see that in the movie.Kelly Antilles wrote:*shrug* I found II to be much more... You have Assamite, Ventrue, Ravnos, Gangrel, Nos, Keui-jin... those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head. Possibly a Giovanni as well.

Blade movies are Blade movies... Not there for scientific accuracy or stirring plots, really. They're there for swordfights and vampires and explosions.
Though I will say Blade II erupted into a discussion over when everyone and their vampiric brother wanting Blade's blood for their machinations will hit 'Silly Cliche' stage. I mean, sure, his genetic pattern is perfect for what they were trying to do, but how many times will we see him bled dry?
I know in the comics, they're always after it, and it was all some plan of Frost's to try and make The Daywalker..

On the first Blade DVD there is a extra on the clans in the movie. Supposedly the clans come from an RPG about vampires. I think it was Vampire Masquerade.GrandMasterTerwynn wrote:So they copied World of Darkness vampires?Kelly Antilles wrote:The vampires really didn't represent any clans in the first movie, but this one was pretty blatent.neoolong wrote: Really? Because to lug around big, huge UV lights, would've required a rediculous amount of wiring and/or electrical suppout.salm wrote:you know, i can accept stuff like slow light and the fact that this medi vampyr can tell from the smell of the spit of the zombie of what it consists. can be put down to (new tech, uberpowers blahblah) but god damn it, they know that these zobies die if you uv light them, they have these lights in massive amounts. and they dont USE them. and stuff like this happens and annoys the all over the movie! i mean why did they even introduce the lamps if they arent going to use them after the first big fighting scene?spongyblue wrote:They were more like flash bangs which produced the light. You're right though, I think they could have carried something a bit bigger than entry lights.
