Good luck, guys, I'll be here for reference if they bring up obscure Scripture (although if they even LOOK at the Apocrypha I'll cry foul).
5 Judges: Neoolong, Vympel, NecronLord, Coyote, Yogi
CreationWeb.org must supply a list of their chosen champions and panel of five judges within 48 hours.
Judging criteria: 1-10 scale based on:
Effective use of Evidence
Clarity of Communication
Staying on Topic/Relevancy
Convincing
Civility
Sounds like both a good panel and a good way to judge.
Topics Suggested by StarDestroyer.net:
Young/Old Earth Creationism and Cosmology
Secular Humanist ethics and Biblical Morality (including, but not limited to, such topics as intolerance and Commandment law)
For goodness' sake,
I could take them on on those topics, and I'm a Christian. Literalists are dead meat on those topics, since YEC fails to displace anything as a theory, and unless they can get a very eloquent speaker who believes in symbolism and knows the OT like the back of their hand morality will be hard to argue (I
might be able to argue Biblical morality, but it would be difficult). BTW, I would suggest changing it from Commandment law to Mosaic law. Mosaic law covers the entire first five books of the OT. Commandment law is just the Ten Commandments.
Anyone can coach or supply additional research as needed, but outside sources (books, articles, etc) must be accredited. No proof from "some guy's cousin I met at a party".
I'm here if y'all need me.
