Well I let it run and the time kept going up. to over a couple thousand, this morning, (i let it run all night) it was at several hundred thousand minutes in queue.

I have my (so far level 16) main character on Hellscream and my Alliance characters on Doomhammer.
They're both high-population servers, and I've only encountered queues twice. The first was 8 minutes, the second one was a minute.
The game is damned fun. I'm having mroe fun playing solo than I did with my guild in SWG. I've played in good groups before during Open beta, and they're a blast.
Me and one of my Ultima Online buddies have migrated to the Cenarion Circle server, Pacific timezone. Have a level 10 human paladin named Grimbald. My old UO name was Grimbold, but that was taken, and since I had made the guy bald...
Anyway, I like my server. Shows as "low" population on the server list, but still plenty of people around, RP ruleset, folks seem nice so far.
EDIT: Just pick a low-pop server and you'll never see a queue ever. I haven't.

I'd only consider creating a non Hellscream/Doomhammer character if it were Alliance. I already have enough Horde characters that I want, but I've considered making a Dwarf so that's who I'd use on a new server if more than 4-8 SD.net people are on it.

That fucking tears it. I'm not touching this game again until they address the goddamned lag issue. I literally could take no actions last night for a full 10 minutes. There were no NPCs, no players nothing, showing up except for me. and a webwood lurker was beating on me the whole time. (An invisible one. I got battlespam the whole time. I ran from dolnaar to darnassus getting battlespam the whole time. then when the server finally caught up *poof* dead. Fuck you blizzard.

lol. damn. but you gotta cut them some slack, every major mmo i know of has had a shaky launch, but WoW was orders of magnitudes greater than SW:G. Where you couldn't actually make your account on the first day without some major luck.

I wouldn't be opposed to making a sdnet guild, but I'm already to far along to just make a new a character unless I'm able to transfer my character to a new server.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to assign a low-population server (Azjol-Nerub, for example) for anyone who wants to create a new character for the purpose of an SD.net guild, even if it's a ways down the road and you say 'well, I've got a lvl 60 character and I feel like starting a new character'.
I'm still voting for Alliance, though. I'd pick a Dwarven Rogue most likely.
EDIT: I guess I could create a Tauren Druid, though.

On the server I'm on (Lightning's Blade) I think I've seen a Nitram and a Poe, is it SirNitram and Lord Poe? I'm Meestoryoda if it's really you guys, let me know if you want to hook up, got a few friends here too.

I know this is bordering on thread necromancy, but I just bought the game, and I am fucking addicted. I haven't experienced ANY problems with my server so far, lag is extremely low, very helpful senior players, and so forth. I say we take a vote on which server to place our SDN guild (preferably a low tomedium populated one.) Normal and RP are fine with me. Can't stand PvP at low levels, though. I keep getting owned by a band of level 40 assholes the second I spawn.
