I thought it would be something along those lines but more that I liked the fact that it's existence is explained nicely to shoo away some that I've seen use it as a point of sophistication.Robert Treder wrote:What did you think it was?Ghost Rider wrote:Also apparently the Sanctuary Moon is wildlife preserve.
Not much more.

Just noticed a new technical tidbit on the Emperor's Throne Room page:
"Transparisteel viewports equipped with magnification scanners that provide close-up views of deep-space battles"
A cool technology, and it fits with the fancy-pants cockpits from EU books and video games.

And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

Either mislabeling, or AT-ATs are capable of 30000+ km/h spurts.Robert Treder wrote:What did you think it was?Ghost Rider wrote:Also apparently the Sanctuary Moon is wildlife preserve.
Find number 10 on the map, and go straight up. You'll find a caption reading "Veers finally fires fatal blasts at Rebels' power generator" and it's pointing to a spot less than five miles from the generator.Spanky wrote:Concerning the Battle of Hoth, I don't think that it indicates that Veer's destruction of the shield generator at a distance of "17.28" occured at only about five kilometers.
It seems that location where people are seeing the action is actually the Rebel retreat after the generator is destroyed.
This is either a mislabeling, or he was closer than we had hypothesized.

"IT houses a profusion of vital componments, including shield generators and communication sensors."
Does this mean its not dead yet?

It's quite dead. the generators are clerly labeled in the diagram, they are in the main hexagon, not the globes. They are the two big things there, see them?Illuminatus Primus wrote:"IT houses a profusion of vital componments, including shield generators and communication sensors."

Oh I see. "Main bridge generator." I wish he'd gotten "shield" in there. We're going to end up quibbling over that, you know.

Brings up the question as to why the generators need radiation shielding around them though.Lord Poe wrote:Nah, the globes are clearly labeled. The brige would of course have its own generator. The text says its a module, almost a ship in itself.Illuminatus Primus wrote:Oh I see. "Main bridge generator." I wish he'd gotten "shield" in there. No, you'd be amazed. Since the shield generators aren't explicitly labeled as such (instead just "main bridge generator") and the fact that the hyperwave coils and sensors are inside what appears to be a further cutaway of the mechanisms shown in The Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology, I actually had someone believe and claim that the shield generators were still in the dome, and Saxton just added sensors and communications.Lord Poe wrote:Nah, the globes are clearly labeled. Look at the pic. it has labled radiation shielding to protect the crew. It wasn'trequired for the gungan design, tough the AOTC VD makes mention of it. Bit odd.Lord Poe wrote:Eh? What are you talking about?Ender wrote:Brings up the question as to why the generators need radiation shielding around them though.

Gungans used an organic technology. In any case, those generators were only for shields. The Generators on the tower power all the functions of the bridge.Ender wrote:Look at the pic. it has labled radiation shielding to protect the crew. I'm not a mod, but its best generally to look up the policy on such things and often simply quote a previous argument and bring up a new thread, asking new questions.
