You...you...you mean-person you!
On the flip side, having you not dying and having you killing the crap out of things are always pluses to the whole 'Greyson staying alive' bit.

Oh, since I massively underestimated my character's loot I've rectified it. Added Frost to Silence and replaced my studded leather with a modified Celestian Chain (cleared with Rogue).

The d4 is actually the result of a feat I took, Dirfty Fighting.Deathstalker wrote:The damage for your rapier doesn't seem quite right Stormbringer, am I missing something?
1d6 rapier, 1d6 for frost, and I assume 1d4 is class ability, but there should be a +2 for strength and magic sword bonuses.
And I would assume that the strength would be +1 for my strength, I always forget that. And I don't actually have any magical sword bonues; the magic on Silence does other things.
The plus one is to hit, right?

+1 str is for damage only if you are using weapon finesse on the rapier. You have the attack bonus correct, assuming you have your base attack figured right, which i am not sure is correct. I am a pure fighter, and unless your prestige class gives you something, nobody should have a better base attack then me. your sword should have a base of at least +1 to hit and damage even if it is a specific weapon.
So with your rapier to hit should be base att + weapon finesse + weapon bonus
Damage is going to be 1d6 + 1d6 if it has frost +1 for str and +1 for the sword +1d4 for feat
A regular dagger to hit (melee) is going to be base attack + str and 1d4 +1 for damage
ranged dagger is base attack + dex and 1d4 for damage
So with your rapier to hit should be base att + weapon finesse + weapon bonus
Damage is going to be 1d6 + 1d6 if it has frost +1 for str and +1 for the sword +1d4 for feat

Thanks, I think I've got it all figured now. I've run it by Rogue and Alyrium and they haven't noted anything wrong.Deathstalker wrote:+1 str is for damage only if you are using weapon finesse on the rapier. As for the sword, I'm still confused as to where the +1 for a weapon is coming from.

to be a magic weapon, and armor for that matter, it has to have at least a +1. You just can't make a short sword with frost or flaming for example. It has to have at least a +1. Unless it is a very special weapon, no weapon can have more than +5 in bonuses and +5 in special abilities.
Your sword has four or five pluses. +1 and Frost equals a +2 sword for price purposes You have two or three other abilities, which if they are each a minimum equivlent of +1, then you have a +4 or +5 sword for price purposes, which would cost 32k or 50k respectively.
With starting money , the best you could get is a +3 equivlent sword at 18k or a small list of specific weapons

Actually, it has the +1 it needs for frost. The rest of the abilities are from Swashbuckling Adventures and are not that pricey by any means. They're all just nifty tricks rather than combat enhancements.Deathstalker wrote:Your sword has four or five pluses. +1 and Frost equals a +2 sword for price purposes You have two or three other abilities, which if they are each a minimum equivlent of +1, then you have a +4 or +5 sword for price purposes, which would cost 32k or 50k respectively.

I am working this stuff out wth him right now....
The book he used to price this stuff seems to scale magic item costs differently
SO basically, Remove a couple abilities and pop an extra 2000 on the cost... the abilities he really wants are relativly minor, and shouldnt hurt things.

If the other things just add on then you should be good. A +2 weapon costs 8k. Ok so let's see your a 4th rouge BAB of +3, 2nd fite BAB +2 and assuming GW gives you a BAB of +1 then total should be +6/+1
+6/+1 plus weapon fin +6 plus +1 for sword equals +13/+8 for rapier
Damage is 1d6 +1d6 frost +1d4 dirty + 2 + 2d6 if sneak attack
Bucket of dice!
+6/+1 plus weapon fin +6 equals +12/+7 for dagger melee
dam 1d4+1d4 +1 +2d6 if sneak
Somebody check my math

Bladebreaker shouldn't be a big loss. You are more concerned with getting a flank or sneak attack then breaking someones weapon. For swashbuckling I am sure it would be handy, but you won't miss it in a fight. My group just recently used the weapon break rules, and unless you are fighting a giant with a big fucking weapon, you rarely have to worry about having your weapon broken. Your character and mine should make a good team. I can keep someone busy, and you can get a flank an puree a liver or spleen! We'll have to see how the paladins like rogue sneak attacks.
Don't forget your second attack on your character sheet!
May I recommend switching to a comp longbow instead of a crossbow. You can get two attacks a round with it and get sneak attack if close enough.

Rogue, dammit. And don't be looking forward to all combat all the time. There'll be times to break heads, but this isn't a scenario where you get very far by riding to the gates and issuing challenges. At least not at seventh level.
It's Rogue, not Rouge!

In Swashbuckling it can indeed by a useful thing I'd imagine. A lot lighter weapons. At this point I'm perfectly happy to just keep the lockpick tool and the Eager feature. That last, well it's damn cool.
Yeah, a sneak attack with this little darling is going to be quite nasty indeed. I can't wait to try it out.Deathstalker wrote:Your character and mine should make a good team. Indeed. It's a damn cool sword (and it better be for the price).Deathstalker wrote:It just hit me that I have fire on my sword and you have ice on yours! Just need shock and and acid in the party and we'll have the elements covered!
For Rogue and Alyrium:
An Eager sword may be called to hand by the player at any time over and distance as a free action. To transfer ownership the current possessor must hand the sword to the person hilt first. After the owners death the first person to touch it is recognized as the sword's new master.

Leave the acid to me. Flaming Corrosion. Muhahahahahahah!
Stormbringer, if Dirty Fighting works the way I recall it, it only gives you +d4 damage when you spend a full round action to do a single attack. Of course, that is 3.0. It might have been changed for 3.5 or my memory might be wrong.

The Excellent Prismatic Spray. For when you absolutely, positively must kill a motherfucker. Accept no substitutions. Contact a magician of the later Aeons for details. Some conditions may apply.

Sweet ability. Could be pretty useful.Stormbringer wrote:

Limit is 18k I think. And the short sword by itself puts you over.Archaic` wrote:How am I looking with my 3 magic items? I'm not entirely sure what our GP limit is exactly, but I have a bad feeling that the Bag of Holding puts me way over it.
