Gundam Wing vs. Evangelion vs. ST vs. SW
Ok, ok, sorry for the long topic, but every forum deserves an thread like this. For those of you who don't know, Gundams are basically big mechas. Evas, however, are giant biological beings piloted by humans. Their strength lies in their AT-Field, which is kinda like a force field that can withstand a lot of damnage. So, the question is, in a FFA, which of these would win? Let's assume that all sides are limited to using ground assets.

I think we can all agree that the Gundams and ST's are fucked.
And, the most powerful AT field cannot withstand a DBZ.

I forgot the 'limited to ground assets' part.
Still, though, a half-dozen AT-AT's will pump out a shitload of damage.

Evas are unpredictable and hard to gauge in their effects in a battle. At their most powerful(though this could be extremely dangerous even to themselves) I think they could stop most everything in this scenario.Shinova wrote:I think there was a gigawatt-range limit to AT field strength. However, that's excluding the possibility of the Evas doing some weird, Third Impact-style thingy with their AT fields.

I'm inclined to favor Evas - on the other hand Ramiel's AT field was penatrated by 180 Gigawatt positron beam, and SW weaponry is in that range - anyone have numbers for the firepower of an AT-AT?
On the other hand, if we're talking ground forces only, then even if the empire can penetarte AT fields, the evas superior maneuverability will probably still let the evas win. Asuka will probably play hopscotch on the heads of the walkers.
Oh, and for Cyril, in episode 23 thmmmphtffmmmreidiesmmmph.

After it had its AT field neutralized. I don't remember if that happened in this case though. And the Evas seem to be better fighters so I don't think you can base the strength on the Angels. I wonder what weapons the Evas can use those that will help fight the Empire.data_link wrote:I'm inclined to favor Evas - on the other hand Ramiel's AT field was penatrated by 180 Gigawatt positron beam, and SW weaponry is in that range - anyone have numbers for the firepower of an AT-AT?

I don't think any solid numbers for AT-ATs' big guns on full power exist, but considering the fact that E-Webs are suppose to be able to shoot down starfighters with sustained fire, they could probably provide the amount of firepower to equate to a few kilotons in short order. Still, the EVA's speed and agility would allow them to do massive amount damage to their slower opponents... well, as long as they can avoid getting their umbibical cables cut.

Ach. This is why the time is important. Is this before or after Eva1's "meal?" And what kind of weapons do they have access to?Lord of the Farce wrote:I don't think any solid numbers for AT-ATs' big guns on full power exist, but considering the fact that E-Webs are suppose to be able to shoot down starfighters with sustained fire, they could probably provide the amount of firepower to equate to a few kilotons in short order. Okay...ummm...well then what are they limited by?
Time or material?
That would be the true determinant.
Because Gundam shows huge potential, but so does the Empire...while EVA and ST have no chance whatsoever.

Not true. Depending on the EVA and the pilot, Evangelion actually stands a chance. EVA-01 can operate indefinately, and berserker EVA-01 is ridiculously overpowered.
Devil Gundam, on the other hand, can regenerate its parts again and again. I always thought that was unrealistic, even by Gundam standards. The Empire, short of planetary bombardment melting the battlefield uniformly, will have a very hard time keeping the Devil Gundam dead. Not to mention the Gundam heads popping out of ground.

Devil Gundam was from G Gunadam, not Gundam Wing. The two are entirely different series.

Sorry. Misread the topic. Well, D-Hell Custom's stealth will make it extremely difficult to co-ordinate attacks against it, so it's useful as support, dashing in and out of engagements and generally harassing everything. H-arms Custom can rain missiles onto the battlefield, but after a while it'll runout of ammo and be a liablilty. Wing Zero's beam cannon can take out most of the Imperial ground forces, excepting perhaps the AT-ATs. Not sure how the AT fields will hold up against the cannon, though. Sandrock's Cross Crusher attack may be able to disable the AT-ATs, as can the Nataku's arms. It'll be a toss-up between Gundam Wing and Evangelion, unless orbital bombardment is allowed in this scenario.
Needless to say, Star Trek is obliterated within a minute of the battle's start.
