John Carter of Mars showed up in 1910.

both of those martians predate Marvin by quate a bit.

The Martians from Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars trilogy are obviously superior to all others. I mean, just look at Zoya Boone!

And I haven't read Red Mars yet. Green Mars makes sense without it, though, which is nice.

But how can he use it on the planet he lives on? He could move to one of the moons or so.... But if bug bunny can get it from him, he wouldn't stand a chance against John Carter.

Even the maritain grown in water have problems.
A, not much water on any version of mars we are talking about here.
B, There combat effectiveness..... is highly questionable (I'm being nice).
C, If all else fails, send the brothers after him. (The brothers are the last two remaining anceint maritain race on Barsoom, There phyic powers allow them too make huge armies of fake men (maybe limitless Its been awhile since I've read this one) and the only reason they haven't taken over Barsoom is becuase they are locked in a civil war against each other.)

The ones in Stranger in a Strange Land can simply Grokk something being bad and it doesn't exist anymore.

if they met the culture it would go like this.

Culture Contact unit and Martians initiate simultanious telepathic contact.

They Grokk each other.

They offer eachother water.

Great artistic wonders result.

Cmdr X2 (Martin) was definitely the ultimate Martian. Along with his Instant Martians —just add water. They, you remember, were stored in pill form.

First John Carter isn't as wasskly as Buggs.
Second what would John do to Marvin, Kill him? You can't kill Marvin, he's a Loony Toon, they don't die. He survived the destruction of planet X. He'd just desintagrate everyone with his Martain Desintagration pistol.

I'll have to go with the Edgar Rice Burrough's martians. IIRC there were also White and Black Martians but they both had extremely small numbers.

The whole John Carter series is cool.
