Indeed. Probable NDAs and all that. Restrict it to SWTC, please.

Or: "Is there going to be a quote from George Lucas saying 'This book is canon. Suck it, Trekkies.'"

I want mine signed, too!

Seriously, it is a real honor to have you here, Dr. Saxton! I hope to see you here more often! :D

Just don't go expecting Dr. Saxton to become a regular presence on these boards or any others; he is a very busy man.

I know. I saw the date he joined, and his post count. :(

But it's still awsome that he's here! :D

We're glad you're here, Dr. Saxton, and I'm sure we'll find plenty to speculate about when Ep III is released. Even the guys like me with minimal physics knowledge; every so often we stumble onto a right answer :D .

Oooh...just found the page about the Hebrew writing on Vader's chestplate. Lines 1 and 3 are definitely Hebrew; line 2 is...odd. It does make more sense upside down (the funky curvy thing becomes yod). Unfortunately, my Hebrew (particularly unpointed Hebrew, with no vowels) isn't good enough to read them. I have made a copy of what I believe the letters to be (some are a bit mangled) and will ask my Hebrew professor to examine them.

Before asking, these are my best guesses (from right to left i.e. aleph is the top right corner):
The top line appears to be aleph-something-samech-tzade-shin
The second line (once inverted) is yod-mem-gimel-heh-mem
Third line is ayin-dalet-shin-kaf-heh

The one letter I don't know doesn't appear to be Hebrew, although it could be an upside-down heth. Oh, well...at 2 AM, sleep is more important than Hebrew  .

Yes...he's just settling into a new position in MY university, so he's be rather busy with his real-life work. And his old PhD supervisor is MY current research supervisor (and I didn't find out this link till about 3 weeks ago!).

Though apparently there are at least 2 other people I know who are acquainted with him as well. Small world...
