ANWR drilling wouldn't be used to lower gas prices, it would be used to supplement dwindling oil supplies over the next century.

Cheap oil is bad economics.

That's why production is coming down. They increased production so prices dropped, now they're decreasing production so the price remains stable and doesn't drop too far.. According to the news tonight they're aiming for a stable $35 a barrel, which is 5$ more than at the start. So overall the price comes down so consumers are happy and they're getting an extra 5 bucks a barrel so the oil producers are happy.

This is why we need to begin strip mining shale oil today. I want to see armies of rented backhoes start digging the holes while we place orders for the far heavier equipment that will be needed. The fact that we have reserve of oil four times the size of Saudi Arabians under our own ground and are doing nothing to exploit it (while importing vast amounts of oil extracted in a similar way from Canada) is simply absurd.

So, when does that damn Fusion Reactor come online? I'd love to be able to pay ten dollars a month and run the AC 24/7...
