If I'm not mistaken, the band's music is heavily Christian-influenced. I still enjoy it, but there are definite Christian undertones there.

And you think Amy Lee is hot.

But I always thought Walmart did it's best to make sure we couldn't buy music with bad words in it? Or do they just sort it by whether or not it has a Parental Advisory sticker on it?

Interestingly enough, I found out today from a Macleans magazine that Walmart is the largest retailer in US, with Home Depot second...and that when Kmart buys Sears it'll be number 3. Doesn't anyone feel that this violates some kind of antitrust law? What exactly did Microsoft do to get that kind of heat? :?

The band is originaly from the south. But it doesn't have anything overtly christian to it. Though I suppose you can sit and really overthink it and find something you could apply.

But I bought the damn thing, and I have no idea where fuck is anywhere on the CD version. There is some stuff on the DVD that you might want to be carefull about letting a kid see  namely the 5 minute bit with the band and crew mooning each other.

The band is half-christian, because the dude is heavily Christian and sometimes that ends up in the lyrics, at least it did for the first cd. As for Amy, her songs seem to be more focused on internal pain and whatnot.

Or you could listen to the entirety of the song "Tourniquet."

I try not to listen to Evanesence, as their songs sound all the same to me. (Not actually true... the slow ones sound the same, but not the same as the faster ones.)

Of course not. Or at least, not as you've presented the facts here. Someone has to be number 1 (and number 2, and number 3, etc).

What matters is the kind of market share they have. Some figures from this article:

Household staples (toothpaste, shampoo, etc): 30%
CDs/DVDs/videos: 15-20%
Magazines: 15%
Groceries: 19%
Pharmaceuticals: 16%

This is well below any standard of "monopoly" that I'm aware of. And even if Wal-Mart was a monopoly, there's nothing actually wrong with that, unless...
What exactly did Microsoft do to get that kind of heat? :?
They used their monopoly (80-90% market share) on desktop operating systems to gain an unfair advantage in the office suite and network server markets. That's what "anti-trust" is.

I wonder what would happen if you recognized the guy and his family at, say, the mall food court, and started up a creative swearing contest with your friends nearby to them.

"Monkey fucking assbladder!" <leaning over to Mr. Skeens> "That's, what, a $30,000 motherfucker of a swear?" (loud laughter ensues)

Considering he'll probably get 1/3 of that - I'm sure he'll sleep very well.

Not if you talk to the band. Those little weasals started getting airplay on Christian radio shows and they didn't do anything to deflect the label they were getting as a christian band UNTIL they started hitting it big and then suddenly they vehemently denied they were a Christian group or that they had marketted themselves as such...until the Christian radio guys started playing back interviews with them in the early days.

Either have the balls to say yes, we're a Christian Rock group or don't suck at their cock to try and get airplay.
